Knowing that I needed to give her aftercare, I got off the bed and went to the bathroom. I started the water in the tub after getting it hot then went back to the bed.

“I need to take care of you, baby.”

“I can do that.”

I shook my head no. “No, as your man, as your Sir, it’s my responsibility to take care of you afterward. It brings me more satisfaction and bliss to do it. Come.”

I didn’t waste more time arguing. I lifted her and carried her to the bathroom. I stepped into the tub with her in my arms and sank down. I’d added some Epsom salt to the water, so it would help soothe her tired and achy parts. She sighed and snuggled into my chest.

As we soaked I whispered in her ear, “Now, do you have any doubts that you’re beautiful, sexy, desirable and everything I need and want in a woman? Because if you do, then I’m going to have to start all over again once we get out of this tub,” I warned her.

She giggled then sighed. “No, Jake, I have no doubt that you love me and desire me. I won’t be foolish enough to think you’re cheating on me just because I see you with another woman again. I think you know enough about me to realize, if I ever did catch you cheating, I’m gone and I’ll never forgive or come back.”

“And I wouldn’t expect you to. However, that’s not going to happen, so we have nothing to worry about.” The smile she gave me made my heart sing. Finally, she understood how truly deep my love for her went.

Tonya: Chapter 16

I couldn’t believe how fast the past two weeks had gone by and all that had been accomplished in such a short time. It seemed like our lives were on fast forward, but I didn’t mind it. I was more than ready to be Law’s wife and to get to live the remainder of our whole lives together.

After our sex marathon as I called it, where he put my doubts about myself and him to rest, we’d been unable to keep our hands off each other. Thank goodness our bedroom was soundproof. He made me scream every night.

On top of our sex life being phenomenal, he’d insisted on us announcing our engagement. It wasn’t enough that his club knew, he wanted everyone to know it. Which is why he did the old-fashioned thing and had it announced in the local papers. I thought it was sweet. In addition, I found the club had a social media page and they put stuff like this up there. It made me giggle thinking of a biker club doing that.

The only person I worried about knowing was Dan and he was still undergoing treatment for his drug and alcohol issue. I wanted to tell him in person, since I thought he should hear it from me. Law said I had to wait until he was allowed outside contact by the program. I guess it was one of those where you couldn’t have visitors or communication until you were at least two months into it.

Soleil and the other ladies were all so helpful in making wedding plans. They had a lot of experience and loved to do it. Caro, Soleil’s mom, acted like I was her daughter getting married and she insisted on taking a lead role. As for me, maybe it was bad of me, but I let them. I didn’t have the energy to do a whole lot on top of caring for the kids and working.

Although work had gotten easier, Law had convinced me to let them stay in daycare. I’d asked Wren how much it cost, but she refused to tell me. She said my man had taken care of it and told her not to tell me. When I confronted him about it, he’d taken me to bed and kept me orgasming until I agreed. I warned him if this was his go-to method, he wouldn’t win every argument. All the damn man did was smirk and say we’d see. I didn’t know if I wanted to brain him, laugh or argue so he’d take me again.

A good outcome of them going to daycare during the week was I now could work during the day and this left my evenings, nights, and weekends to spend with my family. The kids were getting quality time with me. Also, they were becoming even closer to Law. It wasn’t unusual to see him outside with them. Sometimes, it was playing on the playground or in the pool. Other times, they’d be taking a walk or he would be working on his bike and showing them what he was doing. Even Dena seemed fascinated.

One of the cutest things was when Law and Dena played together. I loved to watch this big, alpha biker, play tea party, and dress up in a pink boa and a crown to play princess with her. He even let her put clear polish on his toenails when he painted her nails for her one night. I had videoed it, so I could show the women.

In addition to all that, we’d made the decision to let my apartment go in town. I didn't know what was said, but after a talk with Law, my landlord hadn’t made a fuss about me breaking my lease early. I’d originally signed it for six months. I asked him if he threatened the man, but he denied it. I wasn’t sure if I should believe him.

As nice as the club was and despite having so many businesses around town and the good they did in the community with their fundraising events and other stuff, there were still people who were leery of them. It all came back to them being an MC. Law told me not to worry about it. That there would always be people like that and there was nothing we could do about it. I hated that people were missing out on how great the club was.

With my apartment taken care of, Law had hit me with the idea of us having a house built on the compound like the other couples. I wasn’t totally unprepared for it. I knew it was something he’d want, and the club had already mentioned it. Surprisingly, we didn’t quarrel too much over the location or the style. We both really favored the French Country style of houses. He insisted we’d need a rather large one, assuming we’d have at least one more kid if not more, so I gave in when he insisted we needed six bedrooms and an office for me. I argued at first that the kids could share, but he said no way. The thought of how much that would cost made me shudder, but he wouldn’t back down. Nor would he listen to me when I said I was helping to pay the mortgage. I’d battle that again when the house was ready.

The club’s construction company, run by Hammer and Steel, was quickly finishing Blade and Cassia’s house within a month. Despite their other business, they always found a way to squeeze in the houses of their brothers. They assured us they could have our house ready before Thanksgiving. I couldn’t wait. That was only five months away.

So with all that going on, it was no wonder something not so great had to happen. It wasn’t anything major, just that Dylan had developed a cough that wouldn’t go away. Not wanting to infect the kids at daycare, if they hadn’t already been infected, which was iffy, I kept all three of mine home today.

Dylan was prone to having a cough for weeks when he got one, so I didn’t mess around. I made an appointment in town with Regan. Sure, she would have checked him out at the compound, but I wanted him to have his formal medical care done there. This way she’d get paid. They still had insurance for now through the state. Once Law and I were married, he would be adding us all to his insurance plan.

As we waited to be seen, I tried to keep the kids entertained. The twins were restless and wanted to play. They weren’t feeling sick like their little brother. Dylan just sat on my lap quietly with his head on my shoulder. He wasn’t running a fever, but he did act less than his smiling happy usual self.

There was a knock at the door then Regan came in smiling. She greeted the kids then me before getting down to business. She already knew why I had brought them in. Not only did she check out Dylan’s throat, ears and listen to his lungs, but she did the other two as well just to be sure.

“It doesn’t appear to be anything serious. I’ll write out a prescription for some cough medicine. If he gets a fever, dose him with children’s Tylenol. If he becomes congested, use a vaporizer. This summer cold is going around. He’s not the first I’ve seen with it. If he gets worse, let me know. As for these other two, they look good for now. Just keep an eye on them. As long as there’s no fever, they can go back to daycare.”

“Thanks, Regan. I figured it was a cold but I didn’t want to take a chance. Besides, Law was worried to death this morning when he went to work. He wanted to call off work, but I convinced him Dylan was fine and that I’d bring him to see you. I swear, I don’t know what he’ll do when they get really sick.”

She laughed. “Tell me about it. When mine get sick, you’d think they’re the only ones ever sick in creation, and Hammer and Steel almost lose their minds. The last time the girls were ill, I almost had to knock them out.”

“Oh, I’d pay to see that. It’s a good thing we have the babies, isn’t it?” I joked.

“It is. Is there anything else I can do for you while you’re here?”
