Hurrying, we placed a shank near each of them after pressing it in their hands to get their prints on them. We’d worn gloves the whole time, even when making them, so ours wouldn’t be on them. Once I was satisfied, we trashed the room a bit to make it look like a fight happened. When that was done, we put on our masks and headed back to the door where the guard should be waiting.

I admit, I was nervous. What if he wasn’t there, or the others came back from break early? Luckily, I had nothing to worry about. He was there and led us back to the laundry. He left as soon as he saw we were in the laundry carts. The two guys from the dry-cleaning business piled dirty clothes on top of us. That I could’ve done without. They stunk to high heaven. It was a nerve-racking ordeal back out of the prison. I was scared to death that we’d be found when we stopped at the gate, but again, they let the guys go without searching.

We rode back to their store. Not saying a word, we got out of the carts, waved, and walked away. A few blocks over, several of the guys were waiting for us. None had on their cuts or were riding their bikes. We were doing this incognito. By the time we made it back to the compound, I was ready to drop. The telling of our tale to the guys would have to wait. Right now, I needed to see Tonya and sleep. The rest could wait.

Tonya:

It had been two days since Law and most of the guys left to take care of the Greco problem. When he got home late that night, I was wide awake, waiting for him. He didn’t say much. All he would say was we were safe. Then he made passionate love to me. I admit, I was curious to know more of the details, but the old ladies warned me that the guys wouldn’t tell. I swallowed my curiosity and kept quiet.

Today was Saturday and the club was celebrating. We hadn’t gotten to celebrate the Fourth of July just over a week ago. It had been postponed due to the drama going on. Now that the threat was over, they were having it today. They’d invited several of their friends to join us. Not all of them could make it, but the Pagan Souls in Cherokee and in Lake Oconee, Georgia made it, as well as the Ruthless Marauders and the Horseman of Wrath. Bull’s chapter and the Iron Punishers had other things they couldn’t get out of, so they wouldn’t be here. I was curious to meet and talk to everyone. I’d met some at Soleil and Falcon’s wedding, but at the time, I’d been miserable about Dan and wasn’t paying much attention.

I was nervous about making a good impression. Last time, I hadn’t thought I’d have much to do with any of the clubs and I had been focused on my life that was falling apart. This time, I would be meeting them as Law’s old lady. I wanted them to see me as worthy of him. I didn’t tell him that or he would’ve gotten upset.

Just like I didn’t tell him I was hating the thought of seeing the bunnies later. Finding out about them had been a shock. Soleil explained them to me. I didn’t ask Law if he’d slept with any of them, because I knew he had needs before me. However, I did tell him I was aware of them and that I preferred not to have the kids or myself around them. He said he didn’t want to be around them either, if he could help it.

He went on to say there had been one when I first came to the compound after moving back who wouldn’t take no for an answer from him. Bebe was her name. Apparently after his last confrontation with her, she’d left and hadn’t been back to the clubhouse in weeks. He was hopeful that meant she got the message that none of them would claim her and she would stay away for good. I did too because if not, I’d lay hands on her or anyone else going after him. He was mine.

I was at the clubhouse with the other women, making sure we had all the food prepared for the day. I thought it was funny to see a bunch of bikers on babysitting duty, but that was what they were doing. They kept the kids entertained and happy. The roar of several bikes got our attention, and we went outside to see who was the first to arrive.

As they rolled into the parking area outside the clubhouse, I saw their cuts. The backs readRuthless Marauders. I knew from Law that this club was just up in Knoxville. No surprise they were the first to arrive. They had less than an hour ride. As they got off their bikes, I tried to check them out.

I knew from talking to the ladies that the only ones out of these clubs who had an old lady were Agony and Dare from Cherokee. The rest were all single. I was warned they’d flirt and try to get a rise out of Law about taking me away. I was prepared for it. I had to admit, they were good-looking guys, like the Warriors, only in my opinion Law was the best looking.

Law came over to me. He was carrying Dylan, and the twins were right behind him like little ducks following a daddy duck. He put his free arm around me. Everyone was greeting the Marauders. It took a bit for us to get to them. When we did, I was treated to a laser look from their president, Jinx.

He shook his head. “Damn, Law, it hasn’t been that long since we saw you. How the hell did you get three kids in that short space of time? You might be good, but you’re not that good.” His guys all laughed as well as the Warriors standing close by.

“Jinx, you’re wrong, I am that good. I’d like to introduce you to my old lady and kids. This is Tonya. And this is Daniel, Dena, and Dylan. Everyone, this is Jinx. He’s the leader of this rabble.”

I shook his hand. He held onto it as he then introduced me to his guys. It was a whirl of names and positions. All of them were charming and teased me out of the gate, but I relaxed and gave as good as I got. We’d barely finished those introductions when more people arrived. This time it was the Souls down in Cherokee.

It was another flurry of introductions. I was happy to meet Eliana. She was their president, Agony’s wife. They had with them their seven-month-old twins. They had a son named Zavian and a daughter named Zoe. They were adorable. I reminisced with her about what mine were like at that age. Dare, the VP and his wife, Joli, didn’t come. She was only a week away from her due date and they didn’t want to risk it. I didn’t blame them.

I chatted with Eliana for a good while until more bikers arrived. This had to be the Pagans from Georgia. They had the furthest to ride. I was introduced to Rage. He was the retired president of that club and Wrath, the current president's father. He brought with him Betty. He kept calling her his old lady and she kept telling him she wasn’t. They were hilarious. They soon were led away by Ms. Marie and Waylon. I wondered what they would talk about. Marie and Waylon would say just about anything—the more outrageous the better—although listening to Rage for a couple of minutes told me he wouldn’t mind their outrageous discussions.

As the day wore on, I got more and more comfortable with everyone. The guys might flirt, but I found out they were harmless to actual old ladies. They might tease their friends about stealing one, but it was all in good fun. The kids were in awe of all the new faces. I wondered what one of these parties would be like once these other clubs began to settle down and have kids. It would be a zoo, I bet.

It was hot so naturally most of us took time to get into the pool. I didn’t have a two-piece. I hadn’t ever worn one even before I had the kids. As I came out from changing to get into the water with Law and the kids, I heard a wolf whistle. I glanced around to find Mad Dog from the Marauders grinning at me. I rolled my eyes. As I got into the water, Law swam over to me. Someone else had Dylan, and the twins were splashing nearby with their flotation vests on.

“Hey, Mad Dog, if you don’t want to be put down like a rabid dog, keep your eyes off my woman,” Law yelled at him.

“It’s worth the risk,” Mad Dog yelled back as he winked. I couldn’t help but laugh at him.

“Don’t encourage him. If you laugh, he’ll think he’s cute. I should’ve bought you one of those bathing suits they used to wear in the old days. You know, the ones that looked like baggy pajamas that covered you almost from neck to ankles.”

“I doubt those are readily available. Even if they were, I wouldn’t wear it. This is decent enough. You don’t need to worry. I won’t ever wear a two-piece suit.”

“Why not?”

“I’ve never felt like my body looked good in one. Too many curves hanging out. After having the kids, that only made me more self-conscious.”

“Baby, how many times do I need to tell you and show you that your body is beautiful and sexy?”

“I know and I’m working on it. Give me a break. So, tell me the dirt on all these people. What should I know about them?”

This diverted his attention and got him to entertain me with stories of the various clubs and the guys in them. I found them fascinating.

Later, we brought out mountains of food and everyone ate until they were about to burst. By the time nightfall came and the kids were tucked away in their huge room in the clubhouse, I was mellow and feeling like I’d gained even more family. I didn’t know how I’d gotten so lucky, but I thanked God for the Warriors, Soleil, and Law every day.
