Luke stopped it, fingers tangling with hers. “Don’t. I love to see you happy like this. It killed me seeing you so upset on Sunday.”

“I didn’t handle things very well that morning.”

Luke’s hand squeezed hers gently. That’s when Andy noticed the bruises on his knuckles. “I suppose you could say I didn’t handle things very well later that night. Or, at least, Aldon probably would.” He gave a rueful snort and started to pull his hand away, but Andy held on to it.

“You punched him.”

“A few times.”

Andy suspected this might be an understatement, but she was just enough of a dark fantasy chick not to be put off by the violence. Tugging his hand up, she kissed those faded bruises. “Thank you. He deserved it.”

Luke cocked his head. “You never cease to surprise me.”

“What? You thought I’d be mad at you for beating up Aldon?”

“Kinda.”

Andy snorted. “I’d have only been mad if you ended up in prison for it. Wait!” Her eyes narrowed. “Couldyou go to prison for it? I’m not sure I would enjoy visiting you in lock-up.”

Andy’s gaze slid to the patio doors as she considered this. “I’d go every week, of course, because you’re my boyfriend, and I love you, and I’d still love you even if you were a convict, but I’m not sure I’d be too wild about all the rest of the guys in there—”

A kiss cut off her ramblings. A hungry kiss. One that had her braining fogging and her vagina acting up.

“Say it again,” Luke whispered as he tugged her from the floor.

“Which part? The thing about me still loving you even if you were a convict? That’s totally true. I would.”

He grinned as he pulled her over to the bed. “How about just that bit that came before it?”

Andy settled onto his lap, thighs hugging his waist. Then she leaned in so her lips teased his. “I love you, Lucas MacCallum. How about that?”

He chuckled. “I love you too, Andalise Rhodes Whittenbalm. Wanna know something else?”

“Sure,” she said, nibbling at his lips.

“My full name is Lucas Christopher MacCallum.”

“That’s nice,” Andy said, not thinking much of it until the mouth she was loving on tipped up in a proud little smirk. That’s when Andy’s mathematical brain took over, quickly tallying things up. “Oh my god! Twenty-five! There are twenty-five letters in your name!”

“Yup.”

Andy was quite certain she now wore the biggest, cheesiest smile ever.

Because this was just the best thing ever.

She turned to her cat. “Isn’t this just the best thing ever, Birdie?”

Birdie was passed out in a little kitty ball, chin resting on one of her front paws.

Andy turned back to her boyfriend. “Itsois! You know it is, right?”

Luke chuckled, both hands settling on her ass. “Good enough to earn your man some conjugals when he’s in the clink?”

“Possibly…” Andy drawled as she rocked against his crotch.

“I like your pants, Bird.”

“I like yours too.”
