Down the hall, he could hear Emma’s music gently drifting through the house. Apparently, it helped her get in the mood to write.

Jesus, just the thought of her writing smut had his body reacting.

Thank God hedidn’thave a stand-up desk.










CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

“Is it strange havingme here?” Emma asked the next night, chopping a tomato.

His siblings were coming for dinner, and Logan was cooking pasta sauce behind her at the stove.

How could a man stirring sauce look so damn sexy?

It did when Logan was doing it.

“Yes and no. Good strange,” Logan replied, and Emma smiled to herself.

She glanced around the huge kitchen with its double oven and the amazing marble centerpiece. The windows looked out over the sculpted garden, the sun sinking into the trees.

Beyond them was a dining area, and further to the right was the living room. It was comfortable yet beautifully decorated. Emma had to wonder why Logan lived in such a big house.

“Did your wife live here?” Emma asked.

He was quiet for a moment, then said. “No. Except for my sister and mother, you’re the only woman who has ever stepped foot in this house. Wait, and one of my decorators.”

Oh, wow. That made her stupidly happy.
