Doug was the prick who had slept with Zoe.

Jesus.

When those green eyes of Emma’s turned to his, he could see the hurt in them. The resignation. Doug knew about Emma.

After what she’d overheard in the Hamptons, her next words were predictable.

“I think I better go home,” she said.

The hell she was.

No goddamn way. He’d just told her he was falling in love with her.

Leaving?

Not over his dead body.

“Wow, so she’s living with you?” Zoe said, crossing her arms.

“Zoe, stay out of this,” Logan snapped, walking toward the woman who now owned his heart. “Emma...”

Emma held up a hand, and he stopped.

“Logan, this is important. You need to focus on your company. I want you to take me home. Or I’ll get Daniel to pick me up,” Emma said. “Me being in your life right now is too much of a risk.”

“She’s right,” Zoe said.

Logan sneered at her again. He wanted to ask Zoe to get the hell out of his house, but he needed information from her.

Emma’s eyes pleaded with him. He had so much he wanted to say to her, but not with his ex-wife in the room.

“I need to deal with this. Give me a couple of hours, and then we will talk.” he pleaded, walking to her.

Emma nodded, then turned and walked out.

Why did it feel like she had taken his heart with her?

Fucking Doug.

He wasn’t taking any more from him.

The guy was going down.
