Fuck this. There was no way Logan was going to let her stay feeling like this. An idea popped into his head.

“By the way, this is Fletcher’s treat. So get what you want, and he’ll pick up the bill.” Logan crossed his arms.

Emma’s mouth dropped open.

“Hunter gave me his card.” Addison frowned.

Logan shrugged. “Just passing on the message.”

As Harper shot him a curious glance, Emma turned and smoothed her hands once more down the sleeveless cream tea dress. It was such a classic style, he was surprised she’d chosen it. With her dark long hair and late summer tan, it was somehow perfect.

Emma let out a sigh and then stepped into the changing room. Harper and Addison followed suit.

How the idea had come to him, he had no idea, but one thing was for certain, his credit card was about to get a pounding.

And he couldn’t care less.

Logan glanced around for the shop assistant and didn’t need to look far.

A woman in a black dress walked over.

“How are the ladies getting on, sir?” she asked.

Logan pulled out his wallet and handed her his American Express Centurion card.

“Put all of their purchases on this, please.” He took her elbow, speaking quietly and leading her away from the changing rooms. “I don’t want them to know it belongs to me, so please keep it, and I’ll come back for it.”

“Yes, sir. It happens more often than you’d believe.” She smiled. “Very Julia Roberts inPretty Woman.”

He stared at her blankly.

“Well, not usually with three women,” she added. “Sorry, totally inappropriate. If you will excuse me.”

Huh?

Logan tilted his head as she walked away, then went outside to ask David if he knew whatPretty Womanwas.

When the former marine burst out laughing, Logan pulled out his phone and Googled it.

Oh.

Three women? Well, it’s not like he’d never...but that wasn’t what this was.

Whatever.

His priority was making sure Emma never found out.

“Excuse me,” he said, stepping away to ring Fletcher. Because if you were going to lie, it was better to cover your ass.

EMMA TUGGED ON THEdress while Harper pulled it.

“Ladies, please. If you rip it, you’re paying for it, regardless,” the shop assistant cried.

“I cannot let your brother-in-law pay this. Have you seen the price tag? All those zeros. No! A dress cannot cost that much. It’s ridiculous,” Emma protested, her voice high-pitched. She shot the assistant a look. “No offense.”

The woman nodded.
