Logan glanced around for Emma. He took a seat and nodded to the woman who was offering to pour him coffee. “Black, thank you.”

“Same for me,” Daniel said.

“Even? You just carved over fifteen percent off our bottom-line profits on that deal,” Logan teased.

Hunter looked up from theNew York Timeshe had in front of his face. “You started negotiations without me?”

Hunter was the director of sales for the Dufort Group, so he was unlikely to be happy his brother had stepped on his shoes.

Daniel had given him a heads-up on that.

“I caught him in a weak moment and took advantage.” Daniel grinned, and Logan shot him the bird. “We only talked high level. The rest is over to you, Hunt.”

“Cool. Then I’ll do your job in the morning on Monday. You won’t mind.” Hunter lifted the paper.

Daniel shot Logan an eye-roll, and he smiled behind his coffee cup.

“Fuck you, I can see you making faces,” Hunter said from behind the paper, and Addison frowned at them all.

Continuing his silent laugh, Logan dropped the cup onto its saucer and turned his wrist over, taking in the time on his Piguet timepiece.

Where was Emma?

Fletcher wandered out in a pair of swimming shorts with Sammy, who was wearing a little pink swimming costume and a blow-up tire around her waist.

She got caught in the doorway and squealed.

“And that’s why I said wait to put it on.” Fletcher lifted her.

Olivia followed with a towel, Sienna following her.

“But why can’t I just have one swim, Aunty Liv?” Sienna complained.

“Because you’re going home in the chopper now,” Olivia replied. “Uncle Fletcher, Sammy, and I are staying here.”

Logan leaned to glance through the door, seeing if he could see Harper and Emma in the kitchen.

Where is she?

Addison tossed back the last of her coffee and nudged Hunter. “Come on, sexy.”

“That’s our cue.” Jackson stood and pulled out Kristen’s chair. “It’s been short but sweet.”

Fletcher wandered over and shook his hand. “Glad you both could make it.”

“Sorry Jonathan couldn’t stay,” Jackson added.

“Hey, I know Jenna needs him right now,” Fletcher said, referring to Jackson’s mom, who had cancer. “He had to fly our mom home anyway. She doesn’t like staying away from home too long.”

Margaret was attempting to recover from alcoholism, so he’d learned. Logan’s feelings on how the woman had been treated by his uncle were not kind. Yet Daniel had said he’d update him on the full story another day.

Apparently, there was a lot more to the story.

So, for now, Logan was trying to withhold his judgements.

“Let’s get the bird in the air, and then it can return for Daniel and Logan.” Hunter tossed the folded newspaper on the table and lifted Sienna onto his hip.

“I want to stay!” she cried.
