“Doesn’t look like there is any ice cream here. But...I know where there’s a great place to get some,” Hunter said.

“Where?”

“Manhattan.” He and everyone else laughed at Sienna’s excited reaction.

“I want to go to Manhattan for ice cream,” Sammy cried from the edge of the pool.

“Jesus, help me,” Olivia mumbled, hugging Addison and Hunter, then Jackson and Kristen.

Logan was laughing when Harper came flying outside. Her dark long hair flapped around her face, and her beach coverall was almost airborne.

“Logan Dufort, where are—” Harper began, and when she spotted him, she pointed a finger. “You! What did you do to my friend?”

Logan stilled.

Then glanced behind her, looking for Emma and an explanation. What had she said?

They had left things in a very happy way this morning. He had no idea what Harper was going on about.

“Sorry, what?”

One look at Daniel and Logan could see the dark protective vibe settling into his shoulders.

Christ.

“Harper? What’s going on?” Daniel growled.

She pointed at Logan again. “Emma has gone. She’s on a plane to Chicago right now.”

“What?” Logan said, sitting up.

“She was going to fly back to Manhattan with us and fly out of JFK,” Harper cried. “Up until an hour ago.”

What. The. Fuck.

Why the hell was she on a plane?

“I’m confused. Why would Logan be responsible for her leaving?” Kristen asked.

Everyone stared at him.

He held up his hands in defense.

“I haven’t spoken to her. I’ve been in a board meeting and then meeting with your husband,” Logan said. “She was fine when I left...When I saw her earlier.”

Left her room.

Left her bed.

Logan had told Emma he’d escort her to the airport, where he was catching his private jet back to Philly.

She’d agreed.

They had planned to have brunch together after his meeting, but he assumed she’d eaten because his meeting went longer when he met with Daniel after.

Logan had thought she was upstairs packing.

Both had agreed having that time together at the airport would allow them to say a more personal farewell. He’d also been hoping to discuss when they would see each other next and lock something in.
