“That’s okay. Why don’t we all go down and eat?”

He kisses my forehead. “If that’s what you want.”

I adore these guys for always putting me first, but at some point, they have to realize that they come first, too. Until then, I’ll soak up all the spoiling.

Neo has been the most attentive person ever. It still blows my mind. Everything I need, or want, he’s there. When I just want to talk, he listens. The thing that really warms my heart is knowing that it’s only for me. A leopard can’t erase his spots, but that doesn’t mean I can’t bring him home and make him my pet. I know Neo will still be an asshole on many levels, and I don’t want him to change who is, but he’s got a soft spot now, and it’s saved just for me.

It makes me so sad to think that this could have all been our reality years ago, had Sebastian not tried to ruin it for us. But that’s okay. He’s gone, and now we have all the time in the world.

Crew stretches beside me and a few minutes later, Jagger comes barging in the door, taking no care to keep quiet. “Wake up. Breakfast is ready.”

“We’re up, shithead,” Crew grumbles, rubbing his tired eyes as he sits up.

I run my fingers down the scratches I left on his back last night. I had no idea I dug into him that bad. He winces, and I say, “Sorry.”

Turning around, the corner of his mouth tugs up and he leans forward. “Don’t be. I’m not.” He kisses my lips and my body relaxes.

The guys disperse and I get dressed and brush my teeth then meet them in the dining room.

“Smells delicious,” I say to Maddie.

But it’s Jagger who responds with, “Thanks.”

“Wait,” I side-eye him, “you’re the one who was helping her cook?”

He brings his hands to his chest. “Is that surprising? I can cook.”

I pinch my fingers together. “Little bit.”

Jagger pulls out a chair for me and gestures for me to sit down, so I do, and he takes the seat beside me while Crew sits to my right.

“This is nice,” I tell them all, when Neo and Maddie join us on the other side of the table.

Neo reaches for a pancake, and when he drops it on his plate and begins pouring syrup on it, we all stop what we’re doing. I know why I stopped, but I thought for sure I was the only one who ever noticed that Neo doesn’t eat in front of others.

His fork presses down as he cuts a triangular piece then he pops it in his mouth. When he lifts his head, he realizes we’re all looking at him, so we resume filling our plates.

“What?” He huffs. “You all act like you’ve never seen a guy eat before.” He stuffs another piece in his mouth.

Of course, it’s Crew who responds. “Uh. Yeah. Because you never eat in front of anyone. Even us.”

Neo shrugs his shoulders. “That was before.”

“Before what?” Jagger asks. “The gunshot?”

“No,” he retorts, pointing his fork at me with a lopsided grin. “Before her.” He winks and my heart swells.

We eat breakfast, talking about anything and everything with full mouths, and when we’re done, we clean the table together.

I’m setting a stack of plates in the sink when Neo comes up behind me. His hands rest on my hips, and he whispers in my ear, “Leave that for the housekeeper. I wanna show you something.”

I pivot around to face him, giddiness in the pit of my stomach. “Like a surprise?”

“Something like that.” He takes my hand, leading the way. We stop at the garage door, and he tells me to bundle up, so I put on my winter coat and boots. Then we step out into the garage, where all the Saint family ‘toys’ are, and also where Crew and Jagger are sitting in the back seat of a Gator. “What’s going on?” I ask them, suspiciously.

Neo jumps in the driver’s seat and says, “Hop on.”

I’m feeling really confused as we pull out of the garage. It’s snowing like crazy, and I’m freezing my ass off, but my pumping adrenaline has me sweating bullets.
