“You don’t know anything about me. I don’t need either of you. I haven’t for a long time,” I tell her before hanging up the phone.
I fall to the floor, hands shaking. I can’t believe I finally stood up to her. I can’t believe how amazing it feels.

ONE YEAR LATER
“Ican’t believe you’re leaving me,” Cameron cries, wrapping her arms around me again.
“It’s not for forever,” I tell her.
“It feels like it,” she says, sniffling.
“You always have Tyler,” I say.
“Great,” she says, frowning, making me laugh.
“You ready, princess?” Cole asks, walking up to us, hugging his sister goodbye.
“Yes.” I smile up at him before standing up on my tiptoes to press my lips to his.
“I love you both. Be safe,” Cam says, wiping her eyes.
“I’ll keep you safe, babe,” Tyler says, throwing his arm around her shoulder.
“Fuck off, Tyler,” she says, pushing him away.
“I feel sorry for Tyler,” Cole whispers.
“Me too.” I laugh.
We wave at the two of them and head towards the boat docked in the water.
“I can’t believe we’re going to travel the world in a boat,” I say, smiling over at him.
“Life is all about chasing our dreams,” he says.
“I’m glad I get to chase my dreams with you,” I say, smiling.
“You really couldn’t have picked a better person,” he says with a smirk, making me laugh.
“You know your sister and Tyler have something going on, right?”
She hasn’t come out and told me that yet, but I can see it. All the signs are there, just like they were with me and Cole.
“They better fucking not have anything going on,” Cole says, looking at them in the parking lot as the boat pulls away.
