“Don’t start that,” I say, smacking his shoulder.

“I told him my sister was off limits,” he says, frowning.

“Your sister told me that you were off limits and look what happened between us,” I say, rolling my eyes.

He doesn’t say anything, just frowns in their direction. I can see the wheels turning in his head.

“Enough about that. Let’s enjoy this time we have together,” I say, wrapping my arms around him.

He pulls me in for a kiss and I thank my lucky stars that I finally had the courage to do the things that make me happy.

I haven’t spoken to my parents since I called my mom last year. True to her word, they cut me off, but they had no idea that I had my own bank account with close to a million dollars in it.

Cole started his own business––a private investigation company. It turns out he really enjoyed digging up dirt on Jasper, so much so that he opened his own place and now has a staff of almost ten.

He worked on that while I finished up my senior year of high school.

Today we’re leaving to travel the world in our new boat. It’s something the both of us started dreaming of that summer in Mexico. I’m sad to leave Cam behind, but excited to start this journey with Cole.

Instead of only having months like I thought, we’ve got a whole lifetime ahead of us. We plan to take advantage of our time together.

I might have thought I’d fallen in love with a heartless devil, but it turns out he was just an angel in disguise.
