“You’re not my type,” he says.

“I know. I’m not easy or a lousy lay,” I reply.

He chuckles. “Do you think about me when you touch yourself?” His lips brush against my ear, and my head rolls back against the back of the closet.

“You wish,” I manage to grit out.

I feel like I can’t breathe.

I feel his finger brush against my bottom lip, and my tongue instinctively darts out, swiping against his finger, and I hear his intake of breath.

“Maybe one day I’ll let you touch me the way Monika did, but probably not. I don’t think you can handle it.” His lips brush against mine and it takes every ounce of willpower I have not to lean forward and press my lips against his.

“Fuck you, Cole,” I say against his lips, and he laughs.

I feel the loss of him when he pulls away, opening the closet door and walking out. I let out the breath I was holding, my hand clutching my chest. What the fuck was that?

I’m playing with fire when it comes to Cole, and it won’t be long before I get burned.

I’m shutting the closet door behind me, when Cam comes around the corner.

“What are you doing?” she asks, curious eyes scanning my face.

Holy shit. I have got to stay away from Cole. Cam almost caught us in a position that I would never be able to talk my way out of.

“I needed to get away from the crowd.” It’s not a complete and total lie.

“You could have just gone upstairs and texted me to let me know that you dipped.” She eyes me, almost as if she doesn’t believe me.

“This was just convenient.” I shrug.

“Whatever you say. Are you good now?”

“Yes.” I walk over, linking my arm with hers, and she graces me with a smile.

Hopefully, all suspicious thoughts disappear with it.

“I heard you found yourself a college boy,” I say, wiggling my eyebrows at her.

“I did. He turned out to be a dud though.” She frowns.

“How so?”

“He was a bad kisser.” She shrugs.

She would know. I think Cam has kissed every guy in town, and some from towns over.

“Well, you’re the expert.” I laugh, and she bumps me with her hip.

“Hey now!”

“Act like you don’t know it’s true.” I give her a look, and she laughs.

“Okay, you’re right. Did you have any luck with Todd?”

Todd. Shit. I forgot I just left him hanging.

“I’m not sure. I don’t think he’s my type.” I shrug.
