When I glanced down to see those striking eyes and full, pouty lips, I found it difficult to feel anger toward her. Which, in turn, made me furious at how easily she shattered my illusion of control.

My cock twitched at the memory of her lips tight around it, of her deep-throating me with such hunger. I could be mistaken in believing she had as much fun as me.

Except, I knew who the real culprits were—Mason and Logan—the duo whose constant teasing had undoubtedly filled her head with fantasies.

Without conscious thought, I found myself striding to Logan’s room, a part of me roaring for answers, for some semblance of understanding what made her pull that stunt. As I reached his open doorway, I found him engrossed in his phone, a smirk on his lips. Reclining comfortably on the bed, he stared down at a photo on the screen of Katerina.

I stiffened.

“What the hell is that?” I barked, the sight of her picture on his phone pushing me to the edge of my patience.

Instead of concealing the image, Logan flaunted it, enlarging the photo of the sleeping girl, a smirk tugging at his lips.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I growled, my hands clenched into fists. “Did you sneak into her room just to snap a damn photo?” My voice was raw with frustration that he’d risk so much for his damn infatuation.

“It’s not a big deal.” He shrugged as if it was a minor thing.

I could hardly believe he dismissed the issue.

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I echoed, sharpening my tone. “You’re stalking her, man. It is a big deal.”

“Chill out, Bridge,” he responded, sounding almost bored. “Maybe you’re high-strung after your strange-ass performance today on stage. What the heck got into you?”

His words stung, and I narrowed my eyes at him. Not a single soul in that room had a clue of why I had behaved like a man possessed on stage, and that included Logan.

“It was all your fault,” I accused, pointing a finger at him.

“How so?” Logan appeared genuinely shocked. “Because you weren’t prepared enough, or your notes on the podium were smudged?”

“Shut the hell up,” I growled. “You both teased Katerina and pushed her—”

“Wait up,” he interrupted, growing more serious now. “What the hell does this have to do with her?”

I sighed, feeling exasperated. Taking a deep breath, I said, “She was hiding in the speaker’s box, unbeknownst to me. And she climbed under my robe during the speech and gave me a fucking blow job.”

The look on Logan’s face was priceless. His eyes widened, his lips parting in shock, then... he burst into cackling laughter. He was howling so hard, he was clutching his stomach and rolling on the bed as he chortled.

“Is that why you were humping the podium?” he managed to choke out.

I just glared at him, shaking my head at his immaturity. He might find it funny now, but he wouldn’t when he realized the consequences of his actions.

“Why is this an issue, man?” he asked, gasping for breath, his eyes tearing up. “I’d give my right leg to have been in your position and have those sweet lips wrapped around my cock.”

“You just don’t get it, do you?” I was nearly shouting now. “You’re not just messing with her. You’re messing with our operations.”

“Then what are we here for, Bridge? Biding our time, waiting?” he asked, staring at me with an arched eyebrow.

“For god’s sake, Logan!” I barked. “This isn’t about your cheap thrills. This is about maintaining our concealment and from anyone outside the institute discovering we don’t belong here. And keeping the girls safe. Your actions are jeopardizing everything.”

For a moment, he seemed to sober up, but then he was chortling again, rolling on the bed as if this was the funniest thing in the world.

“Look who suddenly wants to play hero. Mister ‘I-let-a-girl-suck-my-cock-during-a-speech’,” he snorted, throwing me a smirk. “That’s rich, Bridge. Real rich.”

I could have throttled him. His ignorance, his nonchalance, was infuriating.

“Listen,” he started, standing up from the bed, facing me. “We’re keeping low here, and whether you enjoyed a gorgeous girl giving you a blow job isn’t going to keep her any less safe. That doesn’t change, especially if we leave at the end of the month and no one will be none the wiser. The only issue is if you let yourself fall for her.”

The sharp edge of my anger softened at Logan’s blasé approach. I had to admit, despite his behavior, there was an element of truth in his words. We were all stuck in this situation, and a bit of flirting—no matter how ill-advised—wasn’t going to change our predicament. And there was definitely something about Katerina that piqued my interest—the way she stood up for herself and brought a sweep of fresh air into the institute.
