Before I can enjoy the casual comfort Eagle feels in this town, I need to survive my first trip to the spa.

I pull into the Lavender Lady Salon’s parking lot to find a bundled-up Wynonna leaning against her red Suburban. She walks over and smiles in at me from the passenger side.

“I thought you might not show.”

Climbing out of the SUV, I hurry around as the wind picks up. “I’m sorry I’m late.”

“No, we just got here. Landry, Rosemary, Callie, and the sisters are inside. Selene can’t stand for long without getting dizzy.”

I only nod since I’m unsure if dizziness is a normal thing for Selene.

“It’s the pregnancy,” Wynonna adds and gives me a grin. “How’s yours going?”

My hands go instinctively to my belly. “I’m a few months behind her, but I haven’t told Eagle.”

“Why?”

Shrugging, I feel weird talking openly about the baby. “I want Eagle to be comfortable with us before he feels pressured to make things work.”

“He’s already telling people how he plans to marry you. I think you’re safe to spill the beans.”

“I’m not ready,” I blurt out.

Giving me a nod, Wynonna slides her arm through mine before tugging me toward the front door.

“I received very specific instructions to pamper the shit out of you.”

“Okay, but not too much.”

“Eagle promised to reimburse me for any outlandish expenses we might incur.”

Grinning at her wiggling eyebrows, I enter the salon to find the others pressed up against Selene. My gaze immediately flashes to her bump.

“I’m fine,” Selene announces despite hiding her face against her sister’s chest. “I just get weird when going from the cold to the warm.”

“And the warm to the cold,” Wynonna says and tugs free from her army-green puffer jacket.

As I hang my red parka next to everyone else’s jackets, Wynonna introduces me to Rosemary who wasn’t at Thanksgiving dinner. She and her man work for Nomad and Landry.

“When was the last time you enjoyed a trip to the salon?” Wynonna asks me when I stand awkwardly.

“I’ve never been to one.”

“Uh-oh. I better warn the owner to get the blowtorch ready.”

I stare at her, unsure if she’s teasing me in a fun way or not. Wynonna snorts and looks at the others.

“We’ve got another Yazmin in the group.”

“What?” Selene asks, reacting to her sister’s name.

Callie stands up and smirks at Wynonna. “It must bruise your ego to know Irina doesn’t find you funny, either.”

Yazmin frowns. “I find Wynonna funny.”

“Do you really?” Callie asks and slides off her trench coat.

“Yes.”
