“I can go too,” Zayn says, pulling a set of keys from the pocket of his sweatpants.

“Where the hell did you get those?” Zeke grumbles at the same time I say, “No.”

“You heard what Zeke said, Arsenio and Everett are already on their way, plus you have a unit meeting up with them,” Zayn says.

Dammit. He’s actually making sense.

“Okay, but you don’t pull over for anything, and you put the address into the GPS, no detours,” I instruct, my stomach twisting with worry as he places a kiss on my forehead.

“I’ll send him the address now,” Seline murmurs, followed by a ding in Zayn’s direction.

“Yes, yes,” he sighs in exasperation, already backing towards the armored sedan. “I promise I’ll be careful. You just get those answers we need.”

“There’s a gun in the glovebox,” Zeke says, his lips quirking to the side as worry creases his expression.

Zayn salutes him and blows a kiss to me. “See you soon.”

With that, he hops into the front seat and turns the ignition, sending dirt flying up as he peels out down the road.

“They better get there soon,” I say to Zeke.

“Already on it,” Zeke says, tapping another message into his phone.

“Go, Alpha. I’ll take care of everything,” Silas says, assuring me as his tires squeal in the background again.

“The team is already on their way,” Seline adds, clearly understanding the inner turmoil I’m working through right now.

I should be there. I should be out looking for her with everyone else. But it’s a phone call—it should only take a minute or two, and then we can join the others.

“Okay,” I breathe, making my decision. “I’ll be there soon, Silas.”

“I’ll have a search perimeter set up by the time you get here, Skylar,” Silas says.

I glance down at my screen, knowing that the phone has already sent Jasper to voicemail by now, and end the call, promising myself not to let whatever this news might be affect our ability to find Isabella.

“Here, let me drive,” Zeke says, reaching a hand out for the keys. “You’ll be busy talking to Jasper.”

Nodding in agreement, I fish the keys from my jacket pocket, placing the keychain in his palm. I give him a small, grateful smile before walking over to the passenger side. This is it. This is either the information I’ve been hoping for, or we’re back to square one.

I hop up into the passenger seat and close the door behind me as Zeke climbs into the driver’s side and does the same. Nervous energy thrums through me like electricity, sending tingles down my arms as I stare at my phone.

I’m just about to pull up my contact list when another email notification dings, popping up at the top of my screen.

Jasper.

“He sent an email,” I say, clicking on the message.

Hey Sky,

I found something. Give me a call when you have a second.

Jasper

There’s also a video attached to the message, the file named, Skylar-confidential.

“Do we watch the video or call him back first?” I ask hesitantly, almost not wanting to shatter the illusion just yet. It won’t change anything. My father is already dead, but we might still have a chance at finding Isabella. Honestly, I already know who I’ll see taking that shot, but seeing and knowing are two completely different things.

“Call him back,” Zeke says. “There might be something he needs to explain.”
