Chapter1

Lilly

‘Wow, I think I need to definitely come here for breakfast more often!’ Lilly giggled, playfully flicking the last remnants of milk off her spoon. ‘Whoops! Too much?’

‘No, I’ll forgive you,’ Emily squealed, firing back her own little splash of milk in Lilly’s direction.

Lilly was twenty-three years old but enjoyed silly fun and games as much as she ever had.

Lilly was enjoying an early morning breakfast out in Stallion Valley’s brand new cafe too. To say this was a rare treat would be something of an understatement.

As far as Lilly was concerned, she was barely earning enough to keep all of her bills and rent under control each month. But Lilly did havebigambitions that one day her earning power would be much bigger - and the way Lilly saw things, it was okay to splash out now and again!

Lily’s bright blue eyes flickered in the morning sun and she smiled a big, beaming smile as she finished off the last remaining crunchy granola bites in her bowl.

This is soooo good.

I mean, it really should be at this price!

I wish I could eat like this all the time…

With the sound of the early morning hustle and bustle beginning to turn up a notch on the quaint central street in Stallion Valley, Lilly knew that time was ticking.

But at the same time, Lilly also knew that there was something on her friend Emily’s mind…

‘Okay, so…spill,’ Lilly said, her face full of empathy and her best listening ears fully tuned in to whatever Emily was clearly desperate to get off her chest. ‘Come on, don’t hold out on me, Emily. I know you too well!’

‘It’s…’ Emily said, biting her bottom lip. ‘I don’t know if…’

‘Okay, so that’s tells me it’s about a Daddy,’ Lilly said, a knowing smile on her face. ‘And I’m guessing this Daddy is hungry for a Little called Emily? Please stop me when I’m going off track.’

‘Well…maybeyou’re right?’ Emily giggled, her blonde ponytail shaking from side to side as she struggled to contain herself. ‘He’s just so… gruff.’

‘Like, how gruff?’ Lilly replied, her mind beginning to imagine just how hunky Emily’s potential Daddy might be. ‘Judging by the grin on your face, I’m guessing he’s pretty, pretty handsome.’

‘He’s totallygorgeous,’ Emily confessed, burying her pretty face in her hands and covering her emerald-green eyes for a moment before peeking through her fingers. ‘He came into work as a customer and we were getting along great until…’

‘Until?’ Lilly replied, wondering exactly where this was going.

‘Well, I kinda, sorta, totally messed up his order,’ Emily said. ‘I was so embarrassed that I just didn’t say anything. But apparently he got in touch with my boss and now he’s coming in to speak to me. I’m… a little bit scared.’

‘Scared or excited?’ Lilly giggled. ‘Honestly it sounds like you’re a bit of both!

‘He might not even be a Daddy,’ Emily protested. ‘But… you know how sometimes youjust know?’

The two friends giggled as they considered just what might happen when Emily came face to face with her hunky, a possibly very grumpy, customer later on that day.

But speaking of work, Emily wasn’t the only one who needed to get her skates on and begin her working day.

Well,kind of.

Lilly wasn’t starting her work shift until much later, but she still had plenty to do with her day before then.

And who knew what lay in story for either Emily or Lilly once they left the cafe and their early morning breakfast?

After all, this was Stallion Valley, where no day passed without at least one exciting thing happening!
