Chrissie wasn’t sure about Jack’s plan. It sounded dangerous, and worse than that it really might harm Jack’s reputation.

‘A public confrontation? Isn’t there another way?’ Chrissie said, taking a sip of her fresh juice, courtesy of Mama Lorraine. ‘I’m a bit… scared. Nigel can be… really, reallyhorrible.’

It wasn’t just Nigel that Chrissie was afraid of.

If Jack confronted him and his public image took a hit, then Jack might end up resenting Chrissie for it. The last thing that Chrissie could contemplate was being responsible for the reason that their relationship didn’t work out.

But Jack wasn’t in the mood for listening to Chrissie’s concerns. As far as Chrissie could tell, his mind was totally made up at this point.

‘I don’t give a damn how horrible Nigel can be,’ Jack said, impatience and genuine anger in his voice. ‘He obviously hasn’t come up against a real man before. I won’t allow him to cause you one single second of pain. Not again. Not on my God damned watch.’

Chrissie could help but feel a tingle of excitement as Jack showed off his full Daddy Dom power. He was commanding, in control, and standing up for his Little.

In truth, Chrissie felt a swell of pride inside her. This washerDaddy, and he was being about as protective as was humanly possible. But Jack wasn’t done yet…

‘If I’m your Forever Daddy, and I surely hope I am,’ Jack said, a look of steely focus on his face. ‘What I need to do is set a precedent. You come before my public image or my career. You are my Forever Little and that’s all I care about.’

Chrissie was blown away.

To hear Jack speak like this waseverythingto her. Chrissie felt reassured, comforted, and safer than she ever had in her whole life.

‘Now, message that jerk and tell him to come here,’ Jack said. ‘Don’t worry, it’ll be the last message you ever send this despicable piece of crap.’

Chrissie nodded and picked up her cell phone.

It was time to bring Nigel to the diner where he would meet his match in Jack…

Chrissie sat quietly as Jack talked with Cyrus, Tyler and their other Daddy friend, River. The four Daddies were individually intimidating, but as a foursome looked like a small army.

Poppy and Lilly had come to offer their moral support to Chrissie too…

‘It’s what Little friends do,’ Lilly said, putting her arm around Chrissie. ‘Right?’

‘One hundred percent correct, girl,’ Poppy said, holding Chrissie’s trembling hand. ‘We’ve got each other’s backs. That’s how we role in Stallion Valley!’

The three Littles managed a quick giggle. Even in a difficult moment, Chrissie was able to appreciate how lucky she was to have found Lilly and Poppy. She hoped that if they ever needed her help, she would be there for them too like they were being for her.

But before Chrissie could get too comfortable, she looked up and saw the door to the Stallion Valley Diner swing open.

It was Nigel. And he looked as disgustingly smarmy and smug as ever…

‘Urgh. What is this? The local small-town posse?’ Nigel sneered. ‘Pathetic. Honestly just sad.’

‘Now you listen to me,’ Jack said, stepping forward and standing face to face with Nigel. ‘There are ways of doing things and you are being out of line. I willnotstand for it.’

Chrissie gasped. She had heard Jack being commanding before, but there was a harder edge to his voice now. If she didn’t know it already, Jack meant business.

‘Shrug, shrug and shrug again. Your stupid hick ways don’t cut it with me,’ Nigel said, a cruel laugh following his words. ‘This place is a total joke. I’m doing you a favor getting you out of here, Chrissie!’

There was suddenly a hushed silence in the diner. The confrontation had grabbed everyone’s attention and all eyes were trained directly on Jack.

This wastheJack Malley.

Son and heir to the Malley family fortune.

He was Mr. Charming. The ultimate citizen of Stallion Valley.
