An apology jumps to his lips. "I just thought you'd want some time to yourself."

“Maybe from someone else, not from you."

He looks me over; I can't even imagine what I must look like. Although I had a shower at the hotel, there wasn't a hair brush, or any make up, so I was wearing a pair of jeans, a plain white T-shirt, hair tied back in a bun, ballet flats. "Don't look at me. I'm a mess."

"Shah," he whispers and pulls me into him. "You look fucking angelic. Simple. Natural. All you."

"You look like a bloody GQ model," I shoot back, trying to hide how much his words affected me.

He strikes a pose, only serving to prove my point. Pure, physical perfection. Then he relaxes into just being Kylian again. “I missed you."

"I know. I'm sorry."

He pulls me into the bedroom, and starts to take his clothes off, leaving on his briefs and undershirt, climbing into bed. “Get in. I'm tired. I haven’t been able to sleep without you.”

I pull my jeans off and slide in so that he’s spooning me, his arm slung over my waist, keeping me close.

"Don’t snore. I need some sleep." I speak. He retaliates by digging his fingers into my sides, making me squeal.

And just for a few hours, in this cocoon, everything is right.

"Kiara, this is my brother, Damien. And this is his much better half, My-Linh Tran," Kylian says, gesturing to a man who is definitely Kylian's brother with his blond hair and blue eyes. But where Kylian is all friendliness and fun, Damien exudes icy danger. I wouldn’t be sure he was a real human, if his arm wasn't pulling his fiancée close to his chest. He reaches out and offers me his hand. "Damien," is all that he offers.

But what Damien lacks in warmth the perky woman next to him more than makes up for.

"Hi! I'm My-Linh!" Her Australian accent surprises me, considering she's Vietnamese. It's adorable but I just wasn't expecting it.

"I've heard so much about you!" I say back, her sunshine contagious.

She pulls out of Damien's hold and hugs me tight.

"I'm so glad to meet you. Isn't it cool we're in London at the same time? I thought I was going to have to wait until the opening of Jade Bay to meet you. But now we can talk and learn more about each other! What's your favorite type of food? Can you cook?"

"Kitten," Damien says, and tugs on his fiancée’s hand, pulling her back to him.

"Oh." She bites on her bottom lip and looks a little sheepish. "Sorry. I... get excited."

I smile, her warmth is so contagious. I'm not that great with meeting new people which is sometimes a hindrance considering my job, trying to put the woman at ease, which is what Ananya is for, but I feel like I really could sit and talk to My-Linh all day long.

"I like most types of food, and no, I should not be allowed in the kitchen."

"That's okay, Kylian can cook for you. He's really good."

I nod. "I have had the pleasure of eating his congee. And the tea that he said you gave him. I may or may not have stolen some from him."

"Well, he is my second favorite Baxter brother."

"Told ya," Kylian preens.

I shrug. "I guess, he's okay. Who's your favorite then?"

Kylian and My-Linh roar with laughter, and even Damien shows a little glint in his eye.

"Oh! I almost forgot, here are some things you might be able to use."

She hands me a Harrod's bag. I look inside and there are changes of clothes, toiletries, some other things she thought I might need. Now it's my turn to hug her. "Thank you so much."
