“Isabella slept recently. Her sleep is a little messed up by the meds and the change in routine as well.I’m trying to find a way to organize Bella’s milk and oatmeals so that they’re not too much in sight, but that they’re easy to pick up.”

“But why can’t they stand in sight?” I ask, wrinkling my eyebrows and drinking a few sips of my water.

“Well, I imagine you don’t want to open the closet to get your Whey Protein or anything else and run into Oatmeal.”

I can’t help myself. I burst out laughing.

“What makes you think I take Whey Protein, Antonella?” Not a word leaves her mouth, but her eyes roam my bare torso, and she swallows dry.

Timidly, her tongue wets her lips and I, completely taken by surprise, felt a spasm between my legs as I recognized in her eyes something a baby wife should not feel: desire.I narrow my eyes, but she breaks our eye contact, probably embarrassed, as usual.

I clear my throat and rearrange my thoughts.

“Next week, Saturday, we have an event to go to...” I change the subject, it’s best for both of us.

“What kind of event?” She keeps her head down, completely focused on the supplies that magically seem to have found an ideal order, as she returns them to the closet as if she had known for a long time where she would place them.

“It gets her attention, and she raises her head, her eyes wide.

“A gala ball…” It gets her attention, and she raises her head, her eyes wide.

“What? But that’s in less than fifteen days!” she protests.

“I know, you will probably need help to find what to wear, in fact, you need to shop...” I comment and only realize how that must have sounded when it’s too late. She lowers her head, again concentrating on the supplies.

“Antonella...”

“It’s okay, Marcos. I know that my clothes are not suitable for the places you go to...” she acknowledges, and I breathe with relief.I really don’t need any more drama today. “But I don’t want anyone’s help, I want to pick out my own clothes, if that’s okay with you.”

“And Isabella’s.”

“What?”

“She’ll also need new clothes. It’s a lot, are you sure you won’t need help?”

“Yeah, it’s okay.I can start this mission tomorrow.” She laughs to herself, before shaking her head to one side and the other, denying it.

“All right, did you get your cards?”

“Carmen gave them to me...” pauses for a few seconds, she looks inside the cabinet concentrated, rests her index finger on her lips, drawing my attention to them, “Will Bella also go to the ball?” I think for a moment.

“Would you like to take her?”

“Yeah, but what time does it start?”

“At nine o’clock at night...”

“Um, I don’t think that’s such a good idea…”

All right, we can ask Carmen to take care of her.But maybe you should start looking for a babysitter” I advise.

“A babysitter?”

“Yes, we will have many events, and while I have no doubt that Carmen will love having a child around, she is no longer that young.” Antonella seems to think for a moment before nodding her head in agreement.

“All right, I’ll ask her to help me find someone I can trust, but it may take a while,” she replies, still focused on the organization.

“You have until our wedding.” She frowns, but still doesn’t look at me.
