Declan popped his head in. “Or can you come outside and play?”

Alex giggled. It warmed my heart to hear her happy.

“I just need to keep my phone on me. I would love to get some fresh air.” She shifted, and I helped her stand.

“All right then. Go upstairs and put on something warmer.” I smacked her gorgeous ass as she walked away.

“Can’t have you freezing off those perfect tits of yours,” Declan said, and Alex instinctively cupped said tits.

I laughed.

This felt good. The three of us together felt like it could be our new normal.

When Alex made it back downstairs, I wrapped her scarf around her neck, and Dec settled her beanie on her head. She tugged on her gloves and coat, and I gave her a once over. Satisfied that she would be warm enough, we made our way to the mudroom and headed outside.

“Holy crap,” Alex gasped. “It’s freezing out here.”

Declan and I had been outside a few times since the snow stopped, but this was her first time out in days.

“It won’t be so bad the longer you stay out.” Declan wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “We promise to warm you up once we get back inside.”

“What do we need to get done today?”she asked, leaning into his embrace.

I chuckled. I couldn’t tell if Alex was more rushed to get inside to warm up or to get inside so we could fuck her into another coma.

“We shoveled a path this morning to the barn. We were planning on working on the front of the house while the rest of the guys shoveled paths from their houses to the barns. Why don’t you go check on the horses where it’s not so cold while we start out here?”

I could tell she wanted to be outside, but she wasn’t used to the cold. Texas didn’t normally get this cold very often. At least not for this long. I had no idea how long the snow would stay around, but I loved it. It reminded me of home. Cosland had snow on the ground for at least two months every year.

“All right. I’ll do a brief check and then come help you two. Do you have another shovel for me?”

“We’ll find you one.” Declan grabbed her hand, and they walked to the barn.

I strode to the supply shed and pulled out a few shovels. I was glad we could stock up on them. Over the years, it seemed like the more we expanded our staff, the more we needed them.

Declan joined me a few minutes later, and we cleared a second path from the barn to the front of the main house. It didn’t surprise me that some of the house staff were out front, clearing the snow around the front entry and walkway. Even though it was their day off, everyone lent a hand when needed, no matter what. It was just as much their home as it was ours.

Mrs. Roberts waved at us from the front steps.

Declan and I took our time shoveling and cleaning the path. Ice hid itself well under the powdered snow.

I was just beginning to wonder what was taking Alex so long when a hard, cold ball of snow hit my shoulder, shattering and dusting my face with flakes.

Declan laughed until another ball hit him square in the chest.

I heard a yell of excitement float across the wind. Turning, I saw another ball launched from around the corner of the barn. Followed by another and another.

“Hey.” I ducked as one came at my head.

Laughter came from behind the barn, clearly showing there was more than one culprit.

Alex peeked her head out and froze when she saw me. I squatted and grabbed handfuls of snow to make my own snowball.

Now armed, I stepped off the path, my foot sinking into the snow, and caught a glimpse of Alex, Jessie, and Ty making their arsenal.

Quickly, I made more snowballs and chucked them. My aim may not have been spot on, but it got the message across.

Shrieking and laughing, the women darted for cover.
