“Not at all. Just buckle up. It’s about a three-hour drive.”

“Any chance we can stop for coffee before we hit the road?” Grace asked.

“Think you can hold out until we get to a bigger city? No offense, but I could use somerealcoffee.” I had been dying for something better than the local donut shop. Even my tiny coffee maker wasn’t cutting it. I was wasting my fancy grounds on the cheap machine.I really needed to invest in one that made the drink I liked.

With a round of approval and begging from all of us, Martin laughed and agreed to pull over when we passed somewhere good.

“Thomas and Declan send their regards and apologies for not being able to come with us today. But they sent us with this.” Jessie held up the black credit card with Thomas’ name on it.

I gasped. “I can’t use that.”

“Yes, you can.” Jessie nodded. “Let them spoil you.”

Declan said he would take care of everything. I sighed. “Okay.” I had to trust Jessie on this. “I’m glad the three of you could come. I’m sorry if I took away from any of your plans for the day.”

“Are you kidding me? This is going to be way better than what I had planned. I’ll take shopping over mucking out stalls.” Blake grinned.

“Working on the ranch doesn’t leave much room for time off.And I needed a dress for the event too, so I’m just glad I don’t have to go shopping alone.” Jessie bounced in her seat. “I wish we could have taken the jet.”

My eyes grew wide. Their world was so different than what I was used to.

“It’s in the shop for a maintenance check,” Jessie explained. “But we can use it when we go to the gala in two weeks.”

“We get to take it to the event?” It occurred to me I never asked where we were going. “Where is it?”

“This year it’s in Los Angeles.” Jessie’s eyes narrowed. “Boys never give enough details,” she muttered and shook her head.

“They didn’t tell me anything, just that I needed to dress up.”

“Typical,” she huffed. “It’s fancy. There’s a red carpet. There will be speeches, amazing food, dancing, and a lot of mingling.”

“Well, that’s more than I’ve done in a long time. Sounds like fun.” I smiled, but my stomach flipped as I thought about being in public with Thomas and Declan. I wasn’t used to being in the spotlight, and I hated the idea that I couldn’t be both of their dates. I wanted the world to know they were mine.

My chest tightened.

Did I want them to be mine? The way they made me feel when I was with them and how much I missed them when we were apart told me everything I needed to know. The world didn’t seem quite right without them.

My men were kindhearted, caring, gentleman, and I was in love with them.I was absolutely one hundred percent in love with them. Oh. God. What was I going to do?

My breathing picked up, and I couldn’t catch a full breath. I grabbed at my chest as I grew lightheaded.

“Alex, are you okay?” Blake’s voice was muffled from the blood rushing to my ears.

“Alex.” Jessie grabbed the back of my head and shoved it between my legs. “Breathe, girl.”

I worked on taking deep breaths. With my eyes closed, I pictured a meadow with the grass and trees blowing in the wind and the warmth of the sun on my skin. Slowly, my body stopped panicking, and I calmed down.

I shooed Jessie’s hand and carefully sat back up. They were staring at me, concern etched across their faces.

“What happened?” Grace was the first to speak.

“Umm…” I chewed on my lip. These girls were the closest things I had to best friends. I could tell them, and they’d understand. “I just realized I’m in love with Thomas and Declan.”

The joyful shrieks that erupted from them made me cover my ears.

Martin rolled down the window. “Is everything all right back there?”

“We’re fine Martin. Sorry about that,” Jessie yelled.
