“Uh, I think I’ll just go myself,” I laughed. I didn’t need anyone tagging along to go visit Lennox. I was more than okay on my own.

“You’re not going, babe,” King thundered over me.

Meg rolled her eyes. “I know I’m not because Lennox lives in Iowa.” She grabbed a whisk and pointed it at me. “Though I do think you should take someone with you just to be on the safe side.”

I looked around. “I don’t know if you noticed, Meg, but everyone has their own lives now. It’s almost ten o’clock, and we are the only ones here. Ten years ago, this place would have been crawling with people.”

Meg shrugged. “Yeah, so? It was the same way when we were all having you guys.” Meg laughed. “Well, not me, I had Remy way before King was even in my orbit, but when the rest of the OG members were having kids, things were pretty quiet around here. I say give it a couple of years, and this place will be crazy with kids running around getting into all sorts of trouble.”

“Like Pie driving the Barbie Jeep to the gas station and getting pulled over?” I laughed.

“Was that Pie?” Meg asked. “You guys were all in so much trouble that it all kind of blurs together now.”

“It was one of the idiots,” King grumbled.

“Whatever,” I called. “I’m not taking anyone with me to visit Lennox.”

“When are you leaving?” Meg asked.

“Won’t be for a week or two. Lennox is asking for time off today. I’ll let you know when I know more.” I was hoping she would have told me she could be off tomorrow, but I knew she was having problems with her boss lately. “I’ll be around the next week for sure.”

Meg sighed but nodded. “Good. I like that plan, but I can’t promise I won’t have one of the guys follow you to Iowa.”

“Meg,” I laughed. “I’m not a little boy anymore.”

She finished cracking eggs and threw the shells in the garbage. “I know, but you are my baby.”

“Chosen baby,” I clarified.

Meg rolled her eyes. “Stop it.”

King looked from Meg to me. “What did I miss?”

“Meg was stuck with Remy, but she chose me.”

King tipped his head to the side and nodded. “I mean, you’re not wrong.”

I raised my hand in the air. “I am the chosen one.”

Meg shook her head, but we all laughed.

“Chosen to be a pain in my ass,” she mumbled.

I finished my coffee while Meg and King told me about anything and everything that had happened around the clubhouse and Rockton while I was gone.

King had kept me up to date with the important things, but Meg always thought there were other important things to be told.

The clubhouse may be pretty empty right now, but it was still home. And I knew all it would take was one call, and everyone would be here.

They were all making their own families, but they all could be traced back to the clubhouse.

This was everyone's home.
