“I mean, she is your mom, and she is hella funny, Jonas. You would have to be a Grinch or an asshole not to like her.” A playful smile crossed my lips. “And I think she likes me, too. I mean, she did just give me Day and Knight Tees.”

“You’re welcome,” he whispered.

I wrinkled my nose. “I kind of figured you were behind that.”

“All I did was throw your name in the ring, Lennox. Meg is a wild card, and I didn’t know if she would go for it or not.”

“Well,” I drawled, “she did, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Not only did I fall in love with you, but I’m also falling in love with your family and club.”

“Just family, babe. The club is family.”

He pressed a soft, sweet kiss to my lips. “And now, so are you.”

Chapter Twenty-Six

Snapper

“Why am I finding boxesof mac and cheese in my dresser?” Hero hollered from down the hallway. “Is this some kind of weird treasure hunt?”

“How weird,” Meg called back. “If you want to, maybe take them home,” she suggested. “Finders keepers.”

Hero walked into the common room with eleven boxes of mac and cheese in his arms. “What the hell happened, and how much trouble did Meg get into?”

“You know,” Meg grunted, “it’s kind of rude to assume that I am the reason for three thousand boxes of mac and cheese.”

“Three thousand and fourteen,” King chuckled from the recliner in front of the TV. “You might as well be exact, babe. When we die, Remy and Snapper can just make our caskets out of all the boxes.”

“Someone clue me in on what the hell happened?” Hero demanded. “I can’t even imagine how this happened.”

“Meg grand theft autoed a forklift and destroyed about ninety boxes of mac and cheese. King had to buy the whole pallet so the store didn’t call the cops on Meg and Lennox,” I explained. “The whole back of Meg’s truck was a sea of mac and cheese boxes.”

“You’re breaking the new girl in pretty quickly, huh, Meg,” Hero jested. “And with a possible felony, no less. Here I thought Snapper was going to be the only prison penguin.”

“What the hell is a prison penguin?” I asked. “That’s a new one on me, brother.”
