“Always,” I respond, clutching Betty tightly.

Bring on the bloodshed.

Everyone holds their positions as the darkness of the night falls among us.

“Move out,” Cruz speaks into his earpiece and signals us forward.

We outnumber King’s men two to one, but it doesn’t matter. The twins’ snipers take out most of the men before we can even blink.

I’m sad that I only used Betty once. A man was aiming at one of the snipers about to fire on him, but I rounded the tree he was hiding behind and stabbed him repeatedly in the neck.

It wasn’t as gratifying as I’d hoped it would be. These men are clearly untrained, just hired goons King found on the street most likely. Most looked like they’d never held a gun in their hands before today.

I wipe the blood off of Betty on my pants before sliding her back in my holster at my side. I pull off the AK strapped to my back and prepare myself for the fight.

I look over to find Lucky and Royal walking up, throwing their hands in the air.

“What the fuck? I didn’t even get to do anything,” Lucky complains like it’s a bad thing.

“I’m sure you can show off once we get inside, Luck,” Royal says with a trembling voice. The club has a lot riding on this.

We advance to the entrance while Cruz waits for the go-ahead from Zeke. Shadow steps forward, taping the C4 in place. We all round the corner of the building, clearing the area from the blast zone.

I bounce on my feet, adrenaline pumping hard through my veins.

“Copy that,” Cruz says into his mic, then looks to his left nodding at Sinner, giving him the signal.

“You prepared for this?” I whisper to Royal. Without words, he shakes his head yes.

“If you start to lose your nerve, just remember what he did to Angel,” Lucky cuts in, his eyes narrowing on Royal.

“I won’t lose my nerve,” Royal grinds out, looking at Lucky like he wants to knock his head off for saying such a thing. He doesn’t want anyone doubting him, and I can understand that, but it’s his dad we’re going after. So I don’t blame him for feeling nervous.

Sinner and Shadow place their hands over their ears, and we mimic their motion.

The last thing I need is to go deaf on this mission.

“The Sons are ready,”Cruz tells the guys. “In three. Two. One.”

Boom.

The C4 explodes, blasting the door off its hinges and easily falling to the ground. We round the corner and into the building with Shadow and Sinner leading the charge.

The bullets start flying overhead and to the sides of us. Lucky and Royal stick close by my side as we move into the warehouse. We take cover behind a crate.

These guys can’t shoot for shit, but more men are inside than we had anticipated. Some scramble, trying to make a run for it, while others stay and fight back.

King’s men start dropping like flies as we return fire on them.

I aim at two men running for the door, taking the first one out, but my gun jams when I fire my next shot. The other guy turns, shooting in our direction. Royal throws me to the ground from behind, saving my life.

Royal fires back, dropping him. I look up smiling at Royal but his hand goes to his side. When he pulls it back, it’s covered in blood.

He drops to his knees as I scramble to get to him. “Luck! Royal’s been hit!” I shout over the noise in the building.

Lucky whips his head in my direction, fear embedded in his features.
