It’s not as if my dad has really been there for me in life but still, one lone tear slides down my cheek at the thought of all this.

“I’d love to live with you, Leo.”

His warm smile comforts me as he brushes his palms over my hips. “I’d love that too, baby. More than you fucking know.” His fingers slip in between my legs, finding out how dripping wet and full of need I am. “You’re so wet, baby.”

“It’s just the effect you have on me,” I moan out.

“Now that’s what I like to hear.” Leo lifts me by the waist, falling backwards on the bed until my legs are straddling his head. “Show me, baby girl. Show me just how much you want me.”

I’m powerless to deny anything he asks, especially since he’s asking for something that’ll make us both feelincredible. I lower until his tongue is right where I need him to be and ride his mouth until my body goes limp.

Leo flips me onto my back with a dark grin. “Oh hell. I could drown in your juices and I wouldn’t do a damn thing to save myself.”

“You know I’d save you.” I shoot him a playful wink.

“You already have,” he whispers and sinks his cock inside of me until we’re one again. Loving me until I’m too tired to worry about anything else but him—anything butus.

EPILOGUE

SOPHIE

One Year Later…

“I’m such a fat cow,” I complain for another time today and take in my appearance in the oval mirror. The white dress is tight around my tits. I’ve grown another size since the last fitting just three weeks ago and my waist still feels a little snug.Ugh.

“You look gorgeous,” Leo reassures me and sets his giant palms on the very bump where our first baby is growing. “Seeing you in all white reminds me of my birthday.” He wiggles his eyebrows and I can’t help but to laugh.

“Yeah, that really was a perfect day.” Our longing eyes meet back in the mirror. “And it’s also why I’m bursting out of my wedding dress,” I giggle.

“Perhaps,” he flashes me a sly grin. “Although you’re not fat, baby girl. You’re as gorgeous as ever. And remember darling, you’re the one who wanted a big white wedding.”

Crap. Why does he always have to be right? I suppose I was the one who pressed for the bleach white dress and a gazebo under the stars surrounded by our loved ones.

“But I…I really thought he would come.” Other than letting Leo know he was alive, I haven’t heard from my father since the morning he caught us in the kitchen. Not a call or even a letter. I’ve been angry for months but as of late, I’m just sad.

“I thought so too, baby. I’m sorry.” Leo turns me in his arms and wraps me up in a big warm hug. This strong man who operates on the wrong side of the tracks seems to always know just what I need. “I wish I could make the fool appear.”

“Yeah, me too,” I murmur against his chest. “But I have you and this little peanut inside of me and honestly, that’s all that matters.” And I’ll keep on telling myself the very same until I believe it.

“We don’t have to do this right now, you know? We can wait.”

“No, no,” I quickly shake my head. “I want to marry you today. I mean yeah, it’d be great if my dad could get over himself and decide to celebrate with us...but really, I don’tneedhim here. I have you, Leo. You’re everything I need in this world.” It’s the absolute truth as for the past year, he’s been my rock. My center. My greatest source of pleasure and happiness. Every day I learn a new way to love him and it’s turning me into the woman I’ve always dreamt of being.

A knock sounds on the door and it opens to reveal Loretta, my assistant. She’s wearing a disapproving look. “Bad luck to see the bride until she walks down the aisle,” she tells us in a playful voice that has Leo and I both smiling.

I shrug. “Hey, we’re unconventional in that way. What’s up?”

Loretta slips in and closes the door behind her, handing me a sleek black tablet. “Moretti and Wang have both placed bids on the guns, both above the asking price. I wanted to make you aware as the auction does end before the vows.”

I turn and look up at my soon-to-be-husband. “Do we have enough inventory to accept both bids?”

He gives a short nod. “It can be arranged.”

I grab his hand and kiss it before turning back to Loretta. “Let the auction count down and then send them both the confirmation of winning bids.”

Loretta knowingly smiles and heads back towards the door. “You’re a beautiful bride, Sophie. Congrats to the both of you.” The woman is old enough to be my mother but she respects Leo and I all the more. I wouldn’t change a thing in our lives.

I turn to Leo when we’re alone again. “See? You’re really all I need. You helped me find my purpose in life and encouraged me to chase my dreams. And just knowing I’m part of your world and that I’m doing my part to provide for our family, it fills an empty space in me I never knew existed. I love you, Leo. I really do.”
