“Max and Georgia put a wonderful post on social media talking about you and Owen and how romantic the two of you were,” Luna said. “They said that my retreat was so good it even made a fake couple real. I’m so happy for you and Owen, and all the publicity is amazing advertising for me.”

Sophie laughed. “You deserve any positive press you get. You’ve got something special going there.” Her hand was on Owen’s chest, and she was looking into his eyes, letting him know how special she thought he was, too.

“I think so,” Luna said. “You enjoy your success, Sophie. Take the time to truly appreciate it.”

“Live in the moment?” Sophie asked since Luna loved to remind her of that sort of thing.

“Exactly. Talk to you later.” As soon as Luna hung up, Owen grabbed Sophie’s phone and tossed it aside. She expected him to lead her back to the bed. Instead, he took her hand and headed toward the door of the hotel suite.

“We’re going somewhere?” She asked in confusion. “I thought you wanted to make love. In bed.” That’s what she wanted more than anything.

“We’ll get to the bed part,” he said, still walking, “but I need you out of this room and away from distractions.”

“Wait. Where are you taking me?” She dug in her heels before they reached the door. “I should fix my makeup or change my clothes if we’re going to dinner…”

He stroked a finger across her cheek. “You’re so beautiful right now that you don’t need a thing. But we’re not going to dinner. I’ve got something else in mind.” He pulled a keycard from his pocket and showed it to her. “Do you know what this is?”

“The room key?” She’d met him at the hotel after coming straight from work, so she hadn’t been there when he’d checked in.

“Yes, but it’s more than that.” He tapped the key lightly against her nose. “This is what gets us on the private elevator that only goes from the lobby to this floor, wherewehave the only room.”

“Elevator?” She remembered the fantasy she’d shared with him during the session on intimacy. She glanced down at her outfit. Short skirt and high heels. Her dress wasn’t slinky or sparkly, but it would do.

“Yeah,” he rumbled at her. “I haven’t been able to get that fantasy out of my mind.”

His hand was on the doorknob when she caught his arm. “You’ll have to break your own rule about having quick sex.”

“No, I won’t.” He kissed her fast and hard while his hand coasted over her butt and tickled the backs of her thighs. “We’re going to be in the elevator for a while. Then, we’ll come back here and make love all night.”

“And drink champagne?” She brushed her hand over the front of his pants, making him groan as she stroked him.

“We are celebrating,” he said as he caught her hand and opened the suite door. “I plan to keep celebrating until we’re both too exhausted to move.”

“I’m going to hold you to that, McCormick,” Sophie laughed as Owen swept her into his arms and gave her a kiss that made it clear they were in for a long night. The first of the rest of their lives together.
