“You seem like a different person. Someone I’d love to know under different circumstances.” She replied, wryly.

I held her gaze, “That does not have to change. We can still be…”

“Be what? Let’s not deceive ourselves. Let’s just get this over with.” Her mask fell in place hiding her emotions. I wanted to say more, to thaw the ice in her heart but I knew not to push it.

The awkward moment was shattered as the waiter returned with our order. The intoxicating aroma engulfed both of us and a smile came to her face. I took that moment to say, “You'll like it. It’s one of their best.”

“Hmm, I will be the judge of that.” I laughed, some tension finally easing from my shoulders. I opened the bottle of wine, and poured it into our glasses. The red liquid shimmered as the light from the window hit it. I raised my glass, and she did the same. Lightly tapping the glasses together, we took a sip.

“Good wine,” She commented.

“Yes. Let’s eat.” The silence that fell on us was a comfortable one. With her across from me, eating felt more lively and enjoyable. In moments, we were done eating and the waiter came to clear our table. We still said nothing, just feeling the comfort the restaurant afforded us.

“It has been so hard just to breathe since I came back to Salt Lake City. It’s been one problem after the next, and now I have to let go of my parent’s legacy. I feel targeted, and it’s fueling a wave of anger in my soul. I know these are just circumstances working against me, but sometimes I wished it could be better, a moment of reprieve, you know?” Her soft voice sounded mournful.

I could not begin to imagine how she felt and me being a part of her problems made a lump form in my throat. “I am sorry this is happening to you. I’d take it away if I could.” It sounded foolish in my ears but I thought it would make her feel better.

“Oh, I wish but when someone with so much more power than me is in on my case, I have no other option but to give in. Still, I appreciate your effort at trying to comfort me. Though it’s ironic that I’ve got to sell my land to you to make all my problems disappear. I hope one day this feels like a bad dream.”

“Don’t say that,” I grumbled, “The mayor wouldn’t have been involved if you had agreed earlier in the first place.” I knew I had messed up as soon as that left my mouth.

She sat straighter and looked at me with suspicion. “I didn’t mention the mayor. How did you know that?” She laughed. “Oh, I was a fool. It all adds up. Why didn’t I see it in the first place? Bastard!” She threw the word like a knife, and with anger blazing in her eyes, she took her purse and walked out of the restaurant. I watched her walk away, as soon as she was out of sight, I stood. No, I couldn’t let her leave. I had to explain myself. I left a wad of cash on the table and took long strides out of the restaurant.

I stepped out of the building and looked around, trying to find her but could not. Shaking my head, I ran to my car, started the engine and drove out of the parking lot. As I reached her house she was getting out of a taxi. She saw my car and walked quickly to her door. I parked and ran after her, “Samantha! Wait!” I called out to her.

She was about to close the door, but I jammed my leg in stopping her action. It hurt but I grit my teeth, persisting. Then, breathing in deeply, “Just hear me out. It’s not what you think.”

“I know what I think alright. And I know I don’t want you anywhere around me. Leave!” I could feel her increasing her strength, trying to close the door. I pushed hard against the door and forced my way in.

She stumbled back, her eyes wild. “Get out now, or I’ll call the cops on you, and I mean it.”

I didn’t care. I used my leg to kick the door shut and advanced on her. She retreated deeper into the house. I didn’t know what I was doing but I was tired of everything that was happening. “Get away from me.” She said, genuine fear in her eyes.

I reached her, she had her back against a couch in her parlor. “I will not hurt you, ever.” She didn’t look like she believed me. She was about to say something, but I kissed her, cutting her off.

She pushed hard against me to push me away from her, but I pulled on her soft waist, making her body crash into mine, deepening the kiss. Her lips were soft and tasted sweet from the wine. I focused all my attention on kissing and breathing in her scent. She had stopped resisting and had her arm around me, slowly caressing my body.

I was getting excited, my arousal straining in my pants. I stopped kissing her, breathing heavily. “I want you,” I said in a husky voice.

Her reply was to pull my hands away from her waist to her breasts. I understood and fondled them through the silky material of her gown. She wore no bra and I could feel her nipples hardening. She arched her body and threw her head back, eyes closed.

I squeezed her breasts, pulling them out from the top of her gown, taking large bites. She let go of her inhibition and let out a loud cry of pleasure. Her legs were hiked up my waist, rubbing insistently on my achingly hard member.

I pulled her head back and kissed her again. Her body felt soft and warm in my hand. I had missed her so much.

I took my lips away from hers and asked, “Do you want this? Tell me you want it!” I was unzipping my trousers freeing my arousal.

“Yes, Jack. I want this.”

I shivered and nodded, not trusting myself to speak coherently. It didn't take too long. Carrying her, I walked around the couch and set her down on the center table.

I took off her gown and shifted her panties to the side. I brought my head down and licked. I could feel her shiver as she pushed my head harder against her warmth. I acquiesced and sucked hard as I rubbed my finger against her. My name was on her lips.

I stopped, and put her legs on my shoulders. As I sank into her warmth, my length fully opening her up, I felt complete. The way her walls wrapped around me like a vice made me see stars. I pushed deeper until I could go no further. I looked at her, head thrown back in ecstasy, a sheen of sweat on her body. I leaned in to kiss her as my fingers pinched her nipples. “You are so beautiful, baby.” I said, drunk on arousal.

I took her hand and sucked on her finger as I began thrusting in and out of her. Our moans deafening in the silence of the living room. I had waited for this for so long. My hips pistoned into her, like a tireless machine. She gave as good as she got, biting my shoulder and clutching my body closer to her. I could feel her hunger and need. I wanted to satisfy her.

I stopped, wrapping my hands around her waist, and carried her to an oversized couch. I sat with her on top, straddling me. Her eyes were soft and endearing, she leaned in to kiss me and I took her into a rapturous kiss. My hands found her breasts again, fondling them. I saw that she loved that. I started thrusting again, with an urgency that left her squirming with pleasure.
