Paco shrugged. “I was supposed to wait to let my partner say this, but spoiler alert. The kid is totally alive—having a blast and living his best life. You, however, won’t be so lucky.”

A knock echoed through the room.

Instantly, Paco straightened. “That’s my cue.”

There were always two faces to Paco. One, the polished, easygoing charmer known to the world. The one that never minded dirtying his hands or clipping loose ends, or the occasional thirst for blood.

It was a bond he and Stone shared. Two sides of a coin Damian made the mistake of flipping.

Today, Damian would face an avalanche of retribution. In fact, it would be the last thing Damiano Demetrius, notoriously known as the butcher, ever saw again.

With that, he straightened his tie and opened the door. He smiled curtly. “How long will you be enjoying our honeymoon suite?”

Stone acknowledged him with a tight-lipped nod a black leather duffle hanging heavily from his hand. He thought on it for a moment. “A week should suffice.”

EPILOGUE ONE

ALEX

Seven months later

“Merry Christmas!” Mark exclaimed, his voice filled with aho-ho-hoas he opened the door. Dressed in a Santa suit and bright-white beard, he ushered them in.

Alex and Madison stepped inside, their arms cradling their precious, slumbering bundles of joy.

“My turn,” Jordan said, snatching sweet baby Jordan from Madison’s arms, her eyes shining with excitement.

“It’s always your turn,” Alex laughed, his voice filled with amusement and affection.

Madison hugged Jordan with the exchange. “I’m good. My sweet babyJ.has gained at least a pound, and my arm was falling asleep.”

She shook the pins and needles from her arm as she gratefully accepted a glass of champagne from Jess. “Yes!”

Alex laughed. It was Madison’s first drop of alcohol in over a year. He winked at Jess. “Good job, Mrs. Claus. Keep them coming.”

She saluted smartly in her festive red dress and candy cane tights. “Sir, yes sir.”

Xander galloped down the stairs, taking two at a time. His growth spurt was more than evident—an inch and a half at least. His winter hair sported a darker hue, with a pair of glasses perched confidently on his face.

“Are those new?” Madison asked, her eagle eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Alex noted Xander’s casual, carefree reply. “I guess.”

Alex smiled to himself.I bet they’re for a girl.

A captivating young girl walked by, catching Xander’s attention instantly.

It was Ashlyn—Anita’s daughter and longtime friend of the family for both the Bishops and Donovans. She looked to be about Xander’s age.

With a cascade of dark curls framing her face and captivating brown eyes, Ashlyn flashed a warm smile. “Nice glasses, Xander,” she complimented.

Xander’s shyness melted away as he returned the smile. “Thanks, Ashlyn,” he replied, his own eyes locked onto hers.

But as she disappeared from sight, Xander’s eagerness and bright-eyed curiosity turned to the slumbering infant in Alex’s arms. “Can I?”

With a nod of caution, Alex carefully passed little Jack to the waiting arms of his uncle. “Watch the head,” he whispered softly.

Horrified, Xander stared. “What happens to his head?”
