Which is another reason I need to get her out of here.

I reluctantly pull off her, and as she settles inside my car, I take the wheel.

Night has fallen by the time we make it to my place and the gates open. I pull the car into the parking garage and turn off the engine.

Before I even eject my seatbelt, Valentina is in my lap, crawling over me, trying to undress herself.

I laugh as she peppers my face with kisses. I can feel my gun pressing into my back as she leans in, and I realize I didn’t disarm from when we left the warehouse.

“I’ve always had this fantasy about doing it with you in your car,” she whispers.

I pull her farther into my lap as I adjust my seat. “I’ve always had this fantasy about doing it with you over my car,” I quip.

Her eyebrows shoot up as I move my hands up her body, cupping her tits through her blouse.

She hits her head on the roof, and we both laugh. “I think maybe doing it over your car might be a little less hazardous.”

“I think you might be right.”

She crawls off my lap and we exit the car, but just as she comes around to my side, I see a flash out of the corner of my eye.

Holy shit. Someone’s in my garage…

“Don’t fucking move!” a voice yells at us. I grasp Valentina’s hand, pulling her behind me as I back up against the wall. “Put your fucking hands up!”

Before I can even draw my gun, someone is pointing one at me.

Not just someone…

“You didn’t think that would be the last of me, did you?” Yuri Petrov barks, then he laughs. He waves the gun at me, and I raise both my hands in the air.

“Oh, but you did. You figured my brother exiled me out of Boston and that would be it?”

“What the fuck do you want?” I spit at him as Valentina cowers behind me.

He shakes his head. “So many questions, Enzo Russo, so many questions.”

“I have just one, actually. Whatever it takes, it’s yours, name it.”

He laughs, and I don’t like the sound, not one bit.

“Well, I’m still waiting for my million dollars.”

“That was you?” The thought races in my head about that being a diversion as I first thought. “So, you hired Tommy to do your dirty work?”

“This was never about money, Enzo,” he confirms. “None of it was. Tommy was a pawn. I knew you’d never go for it. I needed a distraction so I could get closer, go undetected. I’ve been into your casino, you know, and nobody knew. Disguises are such wonderful things, but I have to say, your security sucks.”

He turns to the side, looking around.

I make haste, pressing my ass into Valentina, trying to let her know my gun is there. A few moments later, I feel her hand snake around as she touches my skin beneath the waistband of my jeans.

He’s so intent on waving his gun at us, he’s completely forgotten the one basic step in a successful hold up: disarm the prisoners.

I try not to panic, but this guy is fucking crazy. “So if it wasn’t about money, Yuri, then what the hell was it about?”

“Revenge.” He shrugs. “You joined forces with my brother. You threw me out of Boston. Ruined my business, made my own men turn on me. You killed one of our own… you’ve done your fair share of bloodshed in this stinking place. And now my daughter is shacked up with one of you! You make me fucking sick!”

Katiya and her father have an estranged relationship but this is ridiculous.
