Chuckles go around the table as Ma shoots Rocco a glare that shuts him up before he can say any more.

He looks over to Enzo. “You put your life on the line for Valentina. You took a bullet and almost died. I couldn’t think of a better person on the planet to watch over and love her than you, my brother. We’re forever grateful.” Everyone cheers. Then Angelo looks to me. “Look after one another. Love each other. Enjoy every moment. You might be my little sister, but you’re everyone’s treasure, Valentina. You have mine and the family’s blessing.”

Rayne slinks her hand into his as he raises it to his mouth and kisses it.

“To the bride and groom to be!” Marco calls out.

Everyone cheers and raises their glasses.

Enzo summons me to him with the crook of his fingers as I set my champagne glass down on the table and stand, leaning over it as he does the same.

“I love you, Enzo,” I whisper as he cups my face with one hand.

“I fucking love you too,” Enzo replies as our lips meet and he doesn’t hold back.

“Language!” Ma calls out as everybody laughs.

“Eww,” Comes from Bria.

“Get a room!” Rocco again.

“Jesus H. Christ, I can’t look,” Marco grumbles.

“I hope the kids look like you, V.” Dante laughs.

“Will someone pass the gravy?” Uncle Giuseppe asks, unbothered.

“When are we picking baby names?” Katiya calls out.

“Who let the fucking dogs under the table?” Fynn yells. “Jesus! Ma! Ruby’s got hold of my ankle!”

“Seriously, guys, you make the Kardashians look like girl scouts,” Bianca snorts.

“Wait till you see them at Christmas.” Jonas rolls his eyes.

Family.

We’re all a little crazy, but that’s what makes it special.

Enzo gives me a sly grin, as if he’s thinking the exact same thing.

I couldn’t wish for anything else. I’m the luckiest woman in the world.

ENZO

Twelve months later

I stare at my beautiful bride, and I can’t believe this day is finally here.

She walks toward me in her sleek, white wedding gown; it has a crystal encrusted bodice and a full skirt, nothing too revealing, or her Ma would have a fit. She looks so beautiful that my heart does somersaults in my chest.

I can see the tears rolling down her face under her veil as Angelo looks down at her with pride.

I choke up, unable to actually believe that this precious creature is mine for the rest of my life.

Angelo meets my eye and gives me a knowing nod.
