That he got a chance to finish this and redeem himself in Angelo’s eyes.

Angelo meets my gaze. He gives me a chin lift.

“You’ve got some balls,” he says with a grin. “Finally.”

“I learned from the best.”

“Got Vaughn and Sloane onto the location of the drop-off. They’ll see what they can unearth through security footage,” Enzo tells us, already putting a plan into place.

“Good work,” Angelo states as we all look to Fynn.

He’s standing back, looking down at Cameron.

I wonder for a moment if the gravity of what he’s done is settling in, but it seems he’s gone the other way. “I didn’t know that taking a life could feel this good,” he says. “Aren’t you supposed to feel remorse, even if the guy was a dipshit asshole?”

Angelo shakes his head. “Not when it’s done in vengeance, brother. You had a score to settle. What he did to Sage can never be undone, what he did to all the girls. He deserved it. He’ll be meeting his ownIl Diavoloright about now. Take comfort in that.”

Fynn nods. Rocco steps in and takes the gun from him as I chuckle, slapping him on the back.

“You did good,” I say softly. “I’m proud of you.”

“What he did…”

“I know, brother, I know.”

“I’ve never felt like that before, wanting justice like that. Feeling nothing about the life I took…”

“As Angelo said, he deserved it. Take comfort in the fact that he can’t ever hurt anyone ever again.”

“But he did. He hurt Mia and Katiya. It could have been so much worse, I get that, but it still doesn’t make things right.”

“It does now.”

Angelo’s phone rings a few seconds later, then he snaps it closed.

“Sage is here.”

“Fuck,” Rocco, Enzo, Fynn, and I all say together.

Angelo nods to Rocco. “Clean this shit up.”

Rocco nods.

To Fynn and me, he says, “Adjust the two-way. We don’t want Sage seeing this shit.”

I nod. “On it.”

Fynn rolls his eyes. “You’ve been shot, and you’re still fucking going, like one of those Energizer bunnies who won’t quit.”

“I set that shot up for you,” I remind him. “Don’t be getting all above yourself now that you’ve got a blemish to your name.”

He looks down at Cameron’s lifeless body. “Something I should have done years ago.”

Angelo does something he rarely ever does; he reaches out to Fynn, hugging him.

“Proud of you,” I hear him mutter. “Nothing will be as strong as our brotherhood. Do you hear me? Never lie to me again.”

“It was a rookie mistake,” Fynn says, staring Angelo in the eye when they pull apart. “I’m sorry, Angelo. It was the one and only time I fucked up.”
