Just then, Sloane sticks her head out of the office and says, “I have a cell number.”

We turn to look at her.

“For who?” Angelo says.

“For Roberto,” she says, like it’s obvious.

Rocco snorts, and I turn to look at him.

“How did you get a cell number for Roberto? “

She shrugs. “I’m a hacker, Fynn.” Then, as if she can’t resist telling me, she says, “Well, I looked up his check-in information. If we lose Sage for any reason, then we can track it.”

That would be funny if this weren’t such a dire situation.

“He was stupid enough to put his cell down?” I quip.

She shrugs once more. “I guess.”

Holy fucking shit.

“Fynn and I will go with the soldiers to follow the car,” Angelo says, just as Rocco begins to protest. Angelo holds his hand out to stop Rocco from speaking. “I have to face him, Roc. I know this isn’t ideal, but this won’t end until one of us is dead. Dom will come with us.”

“You don’t have to deal with this, “Rocco says, standing his ground. “We can do it. We can take him out, Angelo.”

Angelo shakes his head.

“I don’t run away like a coward,” he says. “And after what he tried to do to this family, I need to face him. I need to put a stop to this once and for all. For all the Medicis. God bless Mario.”

I turn to Sloane. “You did good.”

She smiles softly. I feel bad for her, caught up in the middle of this.

Angelo nods to Darko. “Go tell my brothers, and get them to follow behind. Tonight, we end this.”

“Angelo, is that a good idea?” I warn. “Having us all there together, isn’t that what he wants? To take us out? This is not smart.”

Angelo turns to me, his face serious. I’ve seen this look on his face a handful of times in my life, and I pity the fool who thinks for one second they could outsmart my brother.

“It’s exactly what he wants. But little does Il Diavolo know, I’m the biggest devil of them all. I’ve also been working hard behind the scenes, and I want to see the look on his face when I take it all down. Every single thing that he has spent the last two years building, I am going to take. And there’s not a damn thing he can do about it.”

“We need to get to Sage,” I remind him. I love my brother, I love all my brothers, but Sage is my priority. She’s all I can think about right now. And we’re wasting time standing here.

“Let’s go,” Angelo says, as Rocco follows behind us. “Let’s go pay this ghost a visit.”

We follow the tracker in Angelo’s car, keeping a good distance behind, but Angelo doesn’t even look at the GPS one single time. He knows where to go.

And that means he knows where Roberto is going to be.

I want to talk to my brother, I want to find out how he’s feeling, and what he thinks, but right now, I think we just need silence. We need time to process the shock.

The betrayal.

The lies.

Family?I snort.
