“She was worried about you,” Waverly teases.

Micha’s eyes widen comically as he jokes, “No, the deadly Miss Jynx was worried about me?”

I flip him off as I reply, “Of course, I fucking was you dick, you’re family.”

“Love ya, Jynx girl,” Micha replies softly, and I’m shocked when my eyes start to fill with tears. He opens his other arm for me, and I head over as we all collapse into a crying cuddle heap like we used to do when we were little.

“Fuck I’m so lucky to have you two,” Micha mutters.

After a while, I push back and wipe my eyes, “Alright, that’s enough mushy shit for now.”

“Definitely,” Waverly agrees, and Micha clears his throat.

“So what’s the plan now? Are you sticking around for a few days?” Micha asks me.

I shake my head, “I would love to, but I have to get back for the meeting with the Ravens tomorrow.”

“Oh shit, that’s tomorrow?” Micha asks.

“Yeah, it should all go okay. There are a few changes they aren’t going to like, and we’ve already lost the majority of members, but I’m not too bothered about that. I’d rather build the Raven's reputation back up with a few that I know that I can trust and rely on.”

“Yeah, that makes sense. You want the foundation to be strong if you want this to last.” Waverly replies.

“Exactly,” I smile. They’re almost always on the same page as me, which is why we work well as friends. “I don’t know if Waverly explained, but you are all safe. Expect to have a personal apology from the head of the Rougarou, and your mom is going to be offered help from a charity that helps women who have been in abusive relationships.”

“Hopefully, she will accept the help,” Micha mutters, not looking at all confident that will be the case.

“That’s all we can do is hope,” Waverly replies.

A knock on the door has us turning to see Rome poke his head around the door, “We just wanted to come and see Micha if that’s alright?”

“Of course,” Micha grins.

They all come into the room, all of them doing a better job of hiding their reactions to Micha’s appearance. We catch up for a while, and the guys make Micha promise to message them if he needs help with anything in the future. After a while, my phone buzzes in my pocket, and I pull it out, finding a text from Sawyer saying that they’re all ready to get going but wondering where the van is parked.

“Did you give Asher the key to the van?” I ask Rome.

He nods, “Yeah.”

“Could you text him and let him know where it’s parked? I can’t remember,” I reply.

He chuckles and pulls out his phone, tapping away as I send a message back to Sawyer to explain.

“I guess that’s your sign to get going?” Waverly asks with a pout.

“Yeah. It’s starting to get dark, and we’ve got to go through some more stuff before the meeting tomorrow.” I reply with a sigh.

“Asher said he’s going to meet us in the parking lot,” Rome interjects.

“Fair enough,” Ace replies.

We spend the next ten minutes saying goodbye and then head down to the parking lot. We’re relatively close to where Ace parked his van, and I greet the Conspiracy team as we approach while a few of the guys head to the other van.

“How’s he doing?” Sawyer asks me, a worried glint in his eye.

“A lot better. He looks awful though.” I reply.

“Are we heading straight to the plane now?” Dax asks, and then adds, “I’m just wondering because it’s a bit late, that’s all. I didn’t know if they’d hang around and wait for you.”
