Her eyes light up with excitement, “Absolutely, I know a few women that want to get out there and do jobs but either haven’t been allowed or don’t have the necessary training. Do you have any requirements?”

I shake my head, “No, the only thing I would warn them about is that they are going to have to go through the training and pass before I will be happy sending them out on jobs. I will not send my people to their deaths. If that means that we are short-staffed for a while, then so be it.”

Nash has been quiet for most of the evening but he smiles as he says, “I think it’s safe to say that the Ravens are in good hands and will hopefully get back to their former glory.”

“Here, here,” Ace replies enthusiastically, like the dork he is.

“Bye, guys,” Sawyer calls out after them as they leave.

Once they’re gone Dax turns back to us, “Okay, so where do you want to start?”

I sigh, “You know, there’s so much that I need to know and go over that I don’t even know where to begin.”

“Well, we just spoke about the training so why don’t we start there?” Rome suggests.

I nod as Rip asks Sawyer, “You don’t have any training programs in place at all?”

Sawyer’s expression darkens slightly, and he replies, “No, it was deemed a waste of money and time. We have lost a considerable amount of Ravens thanks to that line of thinking as well as the fact that Treyton was sending them out to do things that weren’t there speciality like assassinations.”

“We’re going to change that, as I said to Harley we’ll get the women that want to be trained involved as well, and once we’ve gone over the skills list, we can also assign the jobs properly to make sure that people are doing the things that they have the skills to do.” I muse out loud.

Rome nods, “We can all chip in with the training sessions as well, Mason and Mal might be better suited to do it long term though, if you want to make them a regular occurrence.”

“We’ll see how it goes and how many members we have left on Friday. How many members were there?” I ask.

Dax and Sawyer share a look as they try to work out how many people are a part of the Ravens.

“I think we had around sixty active members?” Sawyer replies, making it sound like a question and Dax nods thoughtfully in agreement.

“Yeah, that sounds about right to me. You have around sixty active members and then there’s their families, and the older members who don’t go out on jobs anymore,” Dax replies.

Chapter Two

“If that’s correct though, how come there were so many at the swearing-in ceremony?” I ask curiously. There were definitely more than sixty people in that vast room.

“Family members were invited too,” Sawyer replies. "Since most of the Ravens are legacies, and so the whole family knows about them and what they do."

“There were also those who own Raven businesses but don’t actually do any jobs for the Ravens in attendance,” Dax adds.

“Ah, okay, that makes more sense,” I reply. “I must say, sixty makes it seem a hell of a lot more manageable than it did when I thought I had a whole room full of members to sort through.”

“I’m not surprised.” Sawyer agrees, “The businesses take care of themselves really, and you can appoint someone to oversee them to ensure that they’re doing what they are supposed to be doing.”

“That's a good idea. Do you have the personnel files?” Ace asks, sounding curious.

Sawyer nods, “Yes, but as I said, they’re mostly about the older members, so I will need to tell you what I can about the younger ones.”

“Great, why don’t we start by you listing the members that you know are going to be an issue and why. If it’s something like sexual harassment, then they need to be immediately gotten rid of, I will not stand for that, and all of our members need to feel safe.”

“Got it,” Sawyer replies and then hands me a notepad and pen out of his clearly well-equipped bag. “That’s for you to keep. I have written down the names of every active member.”

“Awesome, thanks man,” I reply, as I open the first page.

“You said yesterday that the Conspiracy was one of the only teams? Everyone else likes working alone?” Mason asks curiously.

Dax nods, “Yes, I think there’s one more group of four that I have my suspicions have a woman as their fifth member, but that’s it.”

“What about a tech team? People who source the jobs and then do the surveillance and hacking, things like that?” Ace asks.
