Page 25 of Finding His Forever

A low moan escapes her lips, and her back arches while I savor her, teasing and tasting with each swipe of my tongue. It’s not long until she’s trembling with anticipation and reaches her climax, calling my name as her fingers grab at the sheet, twisting it in her hand.

I pull away long enough to grab a condom from my nightstand and slide it on. She looks up at me with an expression of pure bliss before reaching out to tangle her fingers in my hair as I lean down to kiss her again.

This time, there’s no holding back. I enter her in one swift motion, sending sparks of pleasure through my body as her eyes screw shut and she moans.

Every thrust brings me closer and closer to the edge, but I’m determined not to give in until Eve reaches hers first. She wraps her legs tightly around me, pulling me deeper as she clings to me and calls out my name.

My release is coming quickly, and Eve trembles beneath me, her core contracting around me as she approaches her peak. Her breathing grows ragged as she shudders, gripping my shoulder as she cries out.

A few more powerful strokes are all it takes. I can’t hold back any longer. I meet her dark brown eyes and fill her, my jaw clenching as the orgasm is unlike any other before it.

We lie there together afterward, sweaty and spent, but still connected. I take a minute to catch my breath before I roll off of her and press a kiss to her forehead then I head into the bathroom.

This time, when I return, she is still sprawled on my bed, with Shorty tucked under her head. There’s an unmistakable glow about her and not a glimpse of the self-consciousness she displayed last weekend.

She pats the bed next to her, and I’m more than happy to settle against her and wrap my arm around her waist.

“Well,” she says softly after a moment of silence has passed. “That was certainly worth waiting for.”

I chuckle and kiss her hair before resting my cheek against it and closing my eyes, breathing in her sweet scent. “You were certainly worth waiting for.”

Cooper | One Year Later

Thesofthumofthe Gulfstream G700 engine fills the cabin as Eve, in the leather chair on my left, reaches over and slips her hand into mine. She’s staring out the window, and I look at the fluffy white clouds below us, too.

“What do you see?” I whisper, by now knowing she’s imagining all sorts of fanciful creatures in the sky.

But instead of pointing out what’s filling her imagination, she glances over at Luke, holding Trevor, his infant son, and Penny, across from me, who’s yawning.

“I see love,” she says, as her eyes, sparkling like diamonds, meet mine. And, of course, she’s right.

I give her hand a squeeze and open my mouth, but Trevor chooses that moment to announce his displeasure about something.

Penny searches for a pacifier in the diaper bag at her side then pops it into his mouth, satisfying him for at least a second.

Luke shifts Trevor in his arms, gently rocking him as the baby’s drowsy eyes blink, and glances at Eve. “How’s business, Eve? Any news with the Dreamy Nights Slumber Company?”

Eve lights up at the mention of her business, which has grown into a successful venture. “Really well, actually. We’ve expanded our product line and started offering add-ons that have thrilled our customers and helped profits soar. It’s been so rewarding to grow thanks only to word-of-mouth.”

As she speaks, I can’t help but feel a rush of pride for my soon-to-be wife. She’s as dedicated and determined as the day I met her and still one of the strongest, most creative people I know.

“Luke would talk business all day,” Penny says, shooting her husband a warm smile. “But, more importantly, how are the wedding plans coming along? I haven’t heard any updates recently.”

“Because they’ve been keeping me so busy,” Eve says. “Cooper’s mom and I have been going over every detail. She’s been so helpful, and his sisters and sisters-in-law are the perfect crew to bounce ideas off of, even if they’re trying to ensure every suggestion gets incorporated. After all, Coop’s the last of his siblings to tie the knot.”

“Yeah, and for a long time, no one held out hope I’d ever walk down the aisle,” I add. “My mom especially. But now, she talks to Eve more than she talks to me.”

Not that I’m complaining. I’m glad they all get along so well and that Eve has basically been a member of the family since that first time she met them at Gia’s family party.

“Well, as one of the bridesmaids,” Penny says, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, “I’m more than thrilled to see you two get married.”

“In some ways, we have you to thank, after all,” Eve says.

“You can say that again,” Luke coughs under his breath.

“Penny?” I say, drawing out her name. “Something you want to say?”

“Who? Me?”
