“I want to go home!”

“You can’t go home,”

Her skin breaking out in goosebumps, she took a step back, stopping only at the feel of her bed behind her.

“Why not?” Her voice was quiet.

“Your grandmother is missing,”

She stared up at him for a moment, trying to read the expression on his face. Her mind working overtime. Pushing the words out past the fear that clawed at her throat. What he had done to her?

“How would you know that?”

“Because you gave me no choice,” frustration creeping into his words as he spoke. “The Inquisition must have bugged my phone. By the time I sent Titans to her home, she was gone. Her house ransacked.”

Sitting slowly on the bed, Talia took a deep breath. Was he lying to her? Had he actually hurt her grandmother?

Draven straightened his jacket, stepping towards her as he tilted her face up to look at him

“I will find her for you beloved, I will return her to you. Let me rid the danger of the inquisition. I can not bare to lose you to them again,” His fingers gentle on her cheek. “If at that point you still want to leave me,” his touch lifting from her cheek as his fingers curled into a fist by his side.

“Then I won’t stop you. You can be free from this dark life, from me.” the pain that filled his voice brought tears to her eyes. Tightening her hold on the silver bottle in her hands, she stared at him.

“But if that is truly your choice, then I implore you to drink the wolfbane in your hands. To have you a wolf would be too much temptation and I can not promise that I would keep my promise. “

His ability to control wolves would extend to her. Just the thought of it was enough for her to pull the stopper of the silver bottle out. Lifting it, she inhaled the earthy scent.

As a wolf, she would be part of the pack. Hyde’s pack. The thought was a little too exciting. Glancing at his jacket that lay inches away from her, she sighed. But Draven was the Pack’s master. And it was to him she would be a slave.

Lifting the bottle to her lips, she drank.

“So be it” Dravens voice was low as he watched her.

The liquid warming as it ran down her throat. A strange tingling flooding her system as she lowered the bottle. Her vision blurring, she blinked, trying to focus. Her hand reaching for the feel of Hydes leather jacket.

A smile spreading across her lips as a feeling of elation swept over her. Digging her fingers into the leather, she tried to frown and couldn’t.

The dread in her stomach finally loosening, as she looked up at him

“What have you...” forcing the words past her lips as she reached for him, “done to me?”

Taking her hand in his, Draven smiled, his dark eyes watching her face intently as he kneeled in front of her.

“Tell me, Talia...” his voice was smooth. Perfect. “Do you love me?”

Love? She didn’t love him, did she?

“I love...” Hydes face filled her mind, the way his rare smiles tugged at her heart.

Frowning, she shook her head, trying to clear her mind and focus.

Something was wrong, but even as the thought twisted in her mind, it was already slipping away.

“Do you love me?” His voice was gentle and somewhat vulnerable. Her heart melting at the sight. Any lingering doubt finally dissolving as she softened, placing her hand tenderly on his cheek.

“Of course I do,”

Leaning forward, his lips claiming hers. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she drew him closer. Desire flooding through her as her lips parted. He gave a hungry groan as the kiss deepened.
