“I’m not giving my ring back, so yes, Aiden, I guess I’ll have to marry you.”

His smile put the last pieces of her heart together. “Really?”

“Yes, really. You see, like our song says, with you, I’m home. I so badly wanted this house to be home. I was going to get a German shepherd…”

“I love that we have a song.”

Grinning, he gatheredher closer. She was probably talking about the same damn dog he’d seen. German shepherd. The same one he’d seen. He had to remember to tell her about it some time. “I’d love to have a German shepherd with you. How do you feel about babies? Human babies, I mean?”

She stilled. “A little boy?”

“Okay, but I also want a little girl with her momma’s blue eyes.”

“I’d like that, too. I… I’m going to want to work, though.”

“I’ll support you whatever you do,” he said while trailing his lips down her face. He loved the sound of her breath catching in her throat. “I want to make love with you. I know we have a lot still to discuss, but…”

Vivian pushed against his chest, sending him flat on his bum. Laughing, he caught her close. “You wanna play rough?”

She pinned him down with her hands. “You do know you talk way too much, don’t you?” she muttered against his mouth.

He caught her lips with his. Her mouth was warm and soft and wet, and within milliseconds, he was ready for her. “It’s dusty and cold; I have a room at the…” he began, but she interrupted him.

“You’re still talking,” she admonished, throwing her jacket to the side before she pulled on his. Laughing, he managed to get rid of it before she tugged his top over his head.

Her eyes immediately zoomed in on his chest, making him feel seven feet tall. With a sigh, she touched him.

Unbuttoning her jeans, he pulled her closer. “I have a great solution to the cold—let’s make our own heat.” Even before his hungry tongue found its way to the warm depths of her mouth, he was on fire.

They’d probably bothend up having pneumonia, but it would be so worth it. Fortunately for both of them, she was a doctor. Aiden’s kiss sent her blood rushing through her body, and within seconds, she was ready for him. Her breasts throbbed, heavy with need; the rest of her body ached to be touched.

How she loved this man. That was the last rational thought before a wild current of emotions and feelings picked her up, sending her senses into overdrive. Aiden’s scent was driving her wild, and she couldn’t get close enough to him.

Grunting, he yanked her top over her head, and with one deft movement, she was rid of her bra. The ice-cold air bit into her, but Aiden’s touch heated the blood rushing through her body, and within seconds, she was ready to burst into flames.

With infinite care, he laid her down on the throw. “Beautiful. You are so, so beautiful.” As his lips caught hers again, big, warm, hands cupped her breasts, fingers fondled her aching nipples. Before she could catch her next breath, she crested. Holding tightly onto him, she rode the waves of pleasure until she fell backward, slightly sated.

“Love watching you do that,” he murmured as his busy hands got rid of first her jeans and then his own.

She held out her arms. “I can’t believe you’re here, with me. I have a plane ticket. I was going to fly to Portland later this afternoon to see you.”

He kissed her temple before trailing his mouth down her face. “Annie told me. But this way, we can celebrate the purchase of your house, as well.”

“Our house.” She smiled. “Our home. I… we still have a lot of things to talk about.”

With his eyes burning feverishly, his hands stroked over her body. “I only have one thing to say. I never want to be without you again.”

The air was so thick, she struggled to breathe. Flames licked against her insides; restlessly, she moved, aching for him to touch her where she needed him the most. His hand slid farther down her body, and when he cupped her, her body arched up into his touch, desperate for more.

The need forher slammed into him, and he struggled to hold onto the reins. Words were the way he made his living, but here with her, he couldn’t think of anything to say that would describe the depth of his love, the intensity of his desire for her. He could show her, though—with his hands, his mouth, his body.

Sliding over her, his muscles quivered. With his heart galloping at an alarming pace, he hoisted himself above her. “Look at me?” he got out.
