“You’ve got that right.”

I turn away and head outside, noting the black car waiting with a man standing by the open door.

“Where to?” He says gruffly, and I stare at him in surprise.

“You don’t seem like a cab.”

He shrugs. “It’s the only way you’re getting home tonight, so you may as well get in.”

A shiver runs down my spine as the penny drops and as I slide into the darkened interior, my thoughts turn to the man whose car this is.

Matteo Ortega.

What on earth am I going to do about him? Seriously sexy, completely domineering and so forbidden, my panties are soaked already.

My boyfriend and whatever his reason is, I’m going to play this to my advantage.

The door slams behind me and the man jumps into the passenger seat and as the car pulls away from the club, I smile into the darkness.

Yes, Matteo Ortega may think he holds all the cards the domineering bastard, but he hasn’t met me yet, not really and what happened back there will never be mentioned, not by me, anyway and it will be interesting to see how long he can keep it a secret.

I wakethe next morning with a dull ache between my legs and a satisfied smile on my face. I still can’t comprehend what happened last night. My safe ordered life was set on fire the moment I saw Jefferson on all fours, and I walked away and struck a match under my own one. My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner and my thoughts immediately turn to the man who made it all happen.

Matteo Ortega is dangerous. A bad boy of the most volatile kind. Lock up your daughters the devil’s in town and for some reason our paths have crossed, and he has me in his sights.

My phone vibrates and I note the many texts lighting it up and I grab it fast. There are several from Jefferson, Clarice and only one from an unknown number.

I open that one first.

Be ready at 2 pm

Shit! This is happening.

I actually feel sick now because shit just got real. My parents are going to blow their stack.

I turn to Jefferson’s and it’s obvious he knows.

Jefferson

Honey, call me. I can explain.

Jefferson

Don’t be mad at me. I’ll cover for you if you cover for me.

Jefferson

We can get through this if we stick together.

Jefferson

I’ll back you up. Just tell your parents we’re taking a break for a few weeks to make sure this is what we both want. Tell them I’m giving you some space to enjoy the single life before committing your future to me.

Jefferson
