“My proposition is this. In return for assisting you in whatever game you’re playing, I want you to teach me everything about domination.”

He is surprised. I can tell by the jerk of his head and the shock that lights his eyes.

“Why?” He appears confused, and I shrug.

“Maybe when you showed me the video of Jefferson, it unlocked a dark part of my soul. I loved it. I liked it so much I couldn’t think of anything else. It turned me on and when I went to the club, it was to discover it for myself. I have so many questions and so much I need to discover because when I return home, I will take charge of my life. I need you to build my confidence. Strip away my defenses and recreate me into a confident woman who can take on the world.”

For a moment he says nothing and just scratches his jaw carefully with consideration and then he says in a softer voice, “You don’t need my help for that.”

“But I do.”

I stand and move to join him and, to his surprise, kneel before him, taking his hands in mine and whispering, “With you I can be anything. You won’t judge me; you won’t think I’m a freak and you won’t use it against me.”

“How can you be so sure of that, given the circumstances that brought you here?”

I smile up at him and already have my answer when I note the expression in his eyes.

“Because you want me too and at the end of this, you will have a hard time letting me go.”

He reaches out and places his finger under my chin and tips my face to his and the danger flashes in his eyes as he says roughly, “You are correct. I want you, but Iwilllet you go.”

“Do we have a deal, sir?”

My lashes flutter as he rubs his thumb against my lips and I say softly, “Tell me your reasons for using me and I’ll help anyway I can, in return for everything you can teach me about sex.”

If I was embarrassed once, I’m definitely not now because this man has unleashed the emotion inside me that doesn’t give a fuck and yet I’m surprised when he reaches down and takes my hand and pulls me up with him.

His hand slides around my waist, his other hand reaching around my back, he pulls me close and whispers against my ear, “You have a deal, Mrs. Ortega. Now, what do you want first? Information, or an orgasm. The choice is yours.”

For some reason that makes me giggle and as I gaze into his eyes, I almost see amusement there and I lightly touch my lips to his and whisper, “Business first. Tell me who that man is, and I may be able to help.”

The fact his hand is caressing my ass makes me regret my choice and when he pulls away and points to the chair I vacated, he says firmly, “Then sit and I’ll tell you everything I know.”

CHAPTER15

MATTEO

She has surprised me again. It’s not often the tables turn on me, but I’m intrigued. Far from breaking this woman, it appears that every harsh word and crude act makes her stronger, which interests me way more than I’ll ever let on. I’ve never met a woman like Abigail Kensington and I’m more impressed with every sentence she speaks. I always prided myself on being an enigma, but she broke the mold when she was born. Cool, detached and regal, yet with the mind and body of a whore. A cunning woman using her power to get what she wants and who wouldn’t be impressed by that? Used and manipulated wisely, she could become my best asset, and I lied to her when I said I would let her go. That is looking more unlikely after every word that spills from those luscious lips. With every sentence she is adding another chain to her leash and it’s now doubtful I will ever return her.

Marriage to this woman may have been out of a desire to infuriate Mario Bachini, but it’s worked to my advantage because now she is mine whether she likes it or not.

“The man in the picture is called Sam Bachini.”

I study her reaction and I am not disappointed.

The shock on her face is replaced with fear and her previous bravado deserts her in seconds.

“Sam.” Her voice shakes as I nod, interested in her reaction.

“You may remember his son, Mario.”

If anything, she looks as if she’s going to hurl and slumps back in her seat and says with a quivering voice. “Please tell me this doesn’t concern that family.”

“Why not?”

She appears almost desperate as she says fearfully. “I met them once at a party they threw at their home.”

“Go on.”
