“Thanks, Finn,” Natalia says, before looking around him to the man that is slumped over in the chair behind him. “What’d you give him?” She slips her jacket off and hands it to me.

“Nothing. Dec said to leave him for you,” he says, stepping out of the way. “He hasn’t had anything other than what we used to subdue him enough to get him here.”

“So, he’s just asleep?” She asks, walking over to the table Finn has set up with various tools.

“Yes, ma’am.” Finn nods.

“Great.” Natalia picks up the hammer before walking over to the man. I lean against the back wall with Finn, watching her determine where she’s going to strike first.Crack.Natalia brings the hammer down on his hand that was resting on the arm of the chair. “Wake up,svolach.”

The man wakes with a scream. “What thefuck?”

“Remember me?” Natalia asks as she walks back over to the table, placing the hammer back, and picking up a set of pliers.

“Fine. Every time I have to repeat a question, you lose a fingernail,” she says, walking back over to his chair. “I’ll give you that first one, since you were obviously still out of it.” She opens the pliers and places them at the tip of his nail. “Now, who are you working for?”

He keeps his mouth shut, and Natalia gives him a wicked smile. “Too bad. Hope you’re not attached to these,” she muses as she quickly pulls the pliers back and his nail along with them. This goes on a few more times, and I have to give it to him. He doesn’t scream as much as I thought he would. He has four nails left before he finally gives in.

“Okay, okay,” he breathes, looking up at her. “What do you want from me?” He begs.

Natalia walks closer and places the blade to his skin, dragging the blade along his arm. “Tell me Viktor, did my brother ask that same question before you tortured him?” She asks as she presses the blade into his flesh, drawing blood.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he grits out.

“Oh? You don’t remember torturing my brother within an inch of his life, then dumping him and his car halfway up our driveway for someone to find, hopefully, after he was dead?” She lifts the knife off his skin and slightly nicks the side of his neck.

“I think I would remember,” he replies, and Natalia shakes her head.

“Maybe I can jog your memory.” She begins slicing at his skin skillfully. The look on her face is pure concentration. She looks so in her element, and I could watch her do this for days. As she continues, Viktor holds out as long as he can before he’s begging her to stop.

“I’ll talk,” he breathes out with a whimper.

“Get to talking,” Natalia says, throwing her knife to the side. “Who were you working for?” She asks, leaning down, looking him in the eyes.

Viktor acts like he’s about to speak, but instead spits in her face. Before Natalia can react, I’m up off the wall and making my way toward them. I watch as Natalia wipes her face off and stands back up. She turns to me just as I’m coming up behind her and places her hand on my chest. “It’s okay. I got this,” she assures me quietly, giving me a devious half smile.

I nod, but instead of going to the back wall, I lean against the weapons table. My mouth turns up into a grin, I watch with awe as Nat pulls her fist back and smashes it into Viktor's face. He groans, and she places her hands on her hips. “Now, let's try it again.Who. Were. You. Working. For?” She emphasizes each word in her question.

“Siorc,” Viktor says. My blood runs cold, but I keep my face stoic as Natalia continues her questioning. I quickly glance over at Finn and he blinks in understanding.

Looking back at Natalia, her gaze is locked on Finn and me. “Boys, something you’d like to add?” She questions and we both shake our heads. “Perfect. Now, where can I find this Siorc?” Natalia asks as she glares back down at her prisoner.

“I don’t know. I only receive emails from him. I’ve never seen his face,” Viktor groans as Natalia presses her finger into one of his stab wounds.

“That is disappointing, Viktor. Now what am I going to do? My only lead on this guy will be dead before the hour is up,” Natalia fake pouts as she walks over and grabs another knife. “Oh well, I’m sure I will be able to dig something up.” She begins skillfully slicing and stabbing Viktor, an eerily calm expression on her face.

When she’s finished, she stands back and admires her work. “There, you should be free of your miserable life soon. I made sure to mimic every single wound you made on my brother and myself.” Viktor is barely conscious at this point, and she smiles to herself.

“I’ll call someone to clean this up,” Finn says as he pulls his phone out and calls our clean-up crew.

“Are you ready to go?” I ask, moving to her side and resting my hand on the small of her back. “You can change upstairs, and you can shower at home.”

She takes one last look at Viktor and I notice the way her hard ass expression falters slightly. “I’m ready,” she finally says after a moment.

I hand her the bag with her spare clothes in it, and she takes it before walking upstairs. Following behind her, I wonder how the hell I’m going to explain who Siorc is. When we get to the first floor, Natalia goes to the bathroom to change and I glance up at Finn as he walks back in the room.

“Cleaning crew is on the way,” Finn gives me a nod.

“Thanks, man.” I slouch against the wall and run my hands over my face.
