“Damn.” I look at the spread of food underneath. There are omelets, French toast, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit from the island. “This looks amazing.”

“I tried to get everything that I knew you’d love.” Natalia comes up behind me and wraps her arms around my waist.

Smiling, I turn to face her and cup her face in my hands. Pressing my lips to hers gently, she smiles against them and pulls away.

“Eat up. We have a busy day,” she says before grabbing a plate and loading it up with food. When she hands me the plate, I look up at her in confusion. “Don’t get used to it. It’s your birthday. You should get a little spoiled.”

Chuckling, I grab two glasses and fill it with the fresh orange juice sitting on the table. “Well, thank you.” I walk out to the table on the patio.

She follows me shortly after and sits beside me. We eat in silence as we watch the waves crash on the shore. I steal glances at her throughout the meal. She looks so relaxed, and I wish I could have this version of her forever. But then again, the badass woman she is when she’s dealing with work stuff is also one of my favorites. I make a mental note to try to keep a balance between the two.

“What are you thinking?” She asks, pushing her nearly empty plate away and sitting back in her chair.

“Just about how beautiful you are,” I reply and give her a wink.

She rolls her eyes, but the blush that creeps to her cheeks makes me smile.

Once we finish the meal, I grab our plates and take them to the cart from room service. Natalia walks by me and grabs her bathing suit out of the suitcase.

“So, your birthday surprise…” she begins, and gives me a broad smile. “We are going snorkeling.”

“I can’t believe you remembered.” The smile on my face grows and I sweep her into my arms.

“It was all you talked about for a solid year, Declan. Of course I remember,” she teases and stands on her tiptoes, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek.

Before she pulls away, I catch her lips with mine. Cradling the back of her head, I pull away slightly, resting my forehead against hers. “I love you, Natalia Raisa.”

“I love you too,” she whispers, before closing the distance between our lips once more.

Backing her up toward the bed, she falls back onto the bed as her legs make contact and I smile down at her.

“Declan. I see the wheels turning in your head.” She smirks up at me.

“And?” I reply, reaching down to undo the tie of her robe. As her robe falls open, I reach down and run my hands along her body. “I just want to appreciate my wife's body.”

“Well, we have a reservation in an hour and a half,” she reminds me before tugging at the opening of my robe, pulling me down on her.

My lips find hers, and we lose ourselves in each other.

An hour later, we are rushing to get dressed. “We are gonna be late, Nat!” I yell to her from the bedroom.

“I’m sorry someone doesn’t understand what ‘we have a reservation in an hour and a half’ means,” she calls back from the bathroom.

“It’s not my fault I can’t keep my hands off of you.” I walk to the bathroom and look at her. “Let’s go.” I smack her ass and then head to the door to put my shoes on.

“I’m ready, damn it.” She comes out of the bathroom as she slides her coverup on.

Walking out of the room, we make our way a mile down the beach where the resort does their snorkeling excursions. Grabbing gear from the guide after he tells us the basic ins and outs, we head into the water.

The sheer beauty of the marine life below us causes me to pause. From the beautiful colors of the reef to the abundance of tropical fish. Natalia grabs my attention as a sea turtle swims a few feet away from her, and the look on her face is priceless. Sea turtles have always held a special place in her heart since we went to the beach once on a family trip and stumbled upon some babies making their way to sea.

We spend the rest of the morning admiring the sea life. Once we return to the room, Natalia turns to look at me. “I was thinking… for lunch, let’s find a local restaurant and do some shopping.”

“That sounds great,” I reply, laying down on the bed. “How about a little nap first?”

“No, sir,” she throws a flip-flop at me. “Get up.” She moves to the bedside and just before she climbs in, her phone rings. Finn's name pops up on the screen and she looks at me before answering.
