My fingers wrap in the sheets and then waves of pleasure roll over me like magma, burning and twisting me, reshaping me and remaking me.

Screaming, I fall apart and Victor grunts, slamming me up the bed two more times before he stills, pumping his hips as his release hits me like a firehose. I collapse to the bed and close my eyes, panting, breathless and completely sated.

“That was…”. I can’t even finish the sentence.

“Amazing, life-altering.” Victor says with a grin.

“Yeah, that.” I can’t even move. It feels like my body is limp noodles stacked on limp noodles. There’s nothing but goo holding me together right now.

He stands up and stalks into the bathroom, returning with a wet cloth that he carefully wipes me up with and then tosses it back in the bathroom. Then he climbs into the bed and holds me tight to his chest. I lazily tug at the light hair on his chest and he grins.

“I like it when you touch me.”

“I like touching you,” I giggle.

“What happened with your mother and your father?”

“I was a mistake. She had a one-night stand with a man she didn’t know and he disappeared because he was married, leaving her with an unwanted pregnancy. But she did the best she could. She was very angry about it though and she hated men with a passion. Never dated again and eventually she passed away from pneumonia. I was in college at the time.”

“What kind of work do you do?”

“I work for a wedding planner. I’m his assistant.”

“Nice. So you don’t have the same problems with marriage?”

I shake my head. “No. But I haven’t met anyone that I wanted to share my life with.”

“Until me.”

“Until you. What about you?”

“I was in a foster home where they didn’t really keep a good eye on me and they kinda neglected me. Then I got caught trying to pick Xavier’s uncle’s pocket. He ended up going to the home and taking me with home. He raised me as his own and adopted me.”

“He sounds like a very nice man.”

“He was. I miss him. He died from a heart attack when I was twenty.”

“I’m sorry. That must have been rough.”

“Xavier and his father both took care of me until…well, now. They may be in a bad job or lifestyle but they aren’t bad guys.”

I nod my head which pops up when I hear a noise. “What was that?”

“I don’t know.” He slips out of the bed and puts on his pants, grabbing a gun out of the dresser drawer by the bed.

He slips down the stairs, turning to wave a finger at me, telling me to stay.

I growl under my breath but cross my arms and stay put. As soon as he’s out of sight though, I grab my clothes and start to put them on hastily.

Then I walk lightly to the door, tiptoeing so that nobody hears me. Right before I reach the top of the stairs, Victor comes back in and glares at me as he pulls on his shirt.

“I told you to stay put,” he whispers harshly.

“I did.”

He snorts and then grabs my hand, leading me down the hall and pushing some kind of panel that opens up. He stares down at me, his hands on my shoulders. “I need you to actually listen to me now. I want you to go in here and stay put.”

I show her how to open it from the inside. “You stay in there no matter what you hear. No matter what is said, you stay, dammit. I will not be able to live with myself if this guy gets you.”
