“I’m not goingto parade them around like a fucking circus Evelyn.”
“And I’m not asking you to, all I ask is a few pictures, videos of you spending time with them. I really think this could be killing two beds with one stone. Improving your image and spending more time with them. It’s a win win.”
He doesn’t look convinced so I go closer to him and hold his hand.
“Luca, I’ve met Bianca and LJ, they are precious and lovely and amzing. I would never suggest anything that could potentially hurt them. The town just needs to see that side of you, as a father.”
He closes his eyes and I release his hand.
“Just one day, I will accommodate this for just one day.”
You smile because even if it’s tiny it’s still a victory.
“Okay, does this weekend work for you?” You ask and he nods, I was supposed to work but I guess we can do it then.”
“Okay. I’ll set it up.” I say and turn to leave.
“Evelyn?” I turn back when he calls my name.
“Thank you, for saying recognizing how precious they are.”
I smile at him and exit the office.

“I cannot believeI am missing all this drama, what the hell?”
I roll my eyes at my cell phone, only Ryan would think blood raining down in a café is drama worth witnessing.
We were on a FaceTime sesh later that day and he demanded I tell him everything that’s been happening and so I did from the fake suspect to the meeting with Stella to the blood rain.
“It was gross Ryan,not cool, gross. I had to throw everything I was wearing. Those heels were louboutine. He laughs,
“I’m sure Mr Mayor would buy you a hundred more if you just asked.” I shake my head at that and he must’ve seen my expression fall because he immediately sobers up.
“What are you not telling me?” He asks and I sigh.
“It’s a mess Ryan, a big, hot steamy mess.”
I then proceed to tell him everything, from the night of the watch to this morning, I don’t mention the part about Luca and Holdens fight because it’s not my story to tell, but k tell him everything else. Include my feelings for both brothers.
“Girl,I would hug you so tight right now.”
“I don’t know what to do Ryan, tell me what to do?”
“Follow your heart Evelyn”
“That’s crap advice and you know it.” I say and he laughs.
“It’s all I have. I can’t tell you what to do, I can’t make that decision for you. I’m sure you already know what you’re going to do, you’re just finding it hard to accept it.
We talk a little more and then I have to let him go to sleep.
“Don’t worry darling, I’ll be back at the office in no time and everything will be alright.
True to his words, Ryan is back at the office on Friday and I am so happy to see him.
