I watched him trail his lips over my body, and when it was at my bosom, how he lingered there. Then, he looked up at me. “I want to fuck the living daylight out of you right here.” Then, he brought his lips down on mine. He made me forget everything. What brought us here. My name. My purpose on earth. Only he could do that to me.

He slipped inside me slowly, to tell me he wasn’t going anywhere, and I bit my lips as he growled in my ears so sensuously I couldn’t hold in my horny truth. I wanted him to move faster, to quit teasing me with all of this, and introduce me to the big deal. Guess I was madder when I was horny. And like be heard me, he began to thrust faster, pinning me, making me grasp the grasses and dig into it like I wanted to hide in its warmth. But, I was trapped inhisown warmth. Luca's. I was his fantasy, and he was mine.

My toes curled and my legs quivered. He wasn’t done with me just yet. He gripped me by my waist like I was his porcelain doll and turned me over. I knew what his intentions were and I was more than down for it.

“I want you. Now,” he said, almost out of breath, into my ears as he bent over my back.

And I replied, “Then, take me. Eat me. I’m all yours.” And he did.

He slipped into me gently and made his way through with an ease for the ages. It was gentle yet it was wild. He moved with such expertise like he was a belly dancer in his former life. He hit all the spots. He thrust powerfully and I moaned however I could not minding where I was. And I didn’t even know where I was. And he growled and I howled, the pleasure building in the centre of my core. And we were two wolves trapped in translation. Surrounded by all these flowers, alone, yet together, and left to devour themselves.

ChapterTwenty-Three

When we were done fucking the hell out of each other, we suddenly came to our senses. He had been my Adam, and we’d done it missionary and raw in our little garden of Eden. We’d forgotten about everyone outside and what they’d thought and we’d just moved our bodies to the music in reckless abandon. Maybe that was what the season could do to us, or maybe it was actually the drugs. I wasn’t so sure.

Before we knew it, we’d heard a scream. It was shrill, sonorous, and obtrusive. There was only one person I knew it could belong to. Ryan. But, was he at the party? There were so many things I needed answered, but first of all, I needed to get out there and check out what was happening. The scenery rang in my head loudly. I was hearing screams coming from different directions. There were little children calling out, there were mothers wailing, and that brought me to my mother. I needed to hurry my legs faster. There was something my mind wasn’t comported for though. Like, I was still in my head and I couldn’t feel my legs. The effects of the drugs hadn’t worn off just yet. What was I going to say and how could I even behave if I could not even control my own legs? There was something in my head pounding against the walls of my brain, struggling to escape. I didn’t know whether it was real or whatever it meant, but I was getting really dizzy and if I didn’t sit down I was going to faint.

But then, my eyes fell on the building. A fire had swirled and engulfed the entire hall we had used. The fire was still emblazoning. Still steady. And we wondered where it had started. Or ignited from. It was terrible.

Ryan was there, however, gazing at the fire, his eyes engorged with sadness. When he looked at me coming from a distance, I saw the tears fall.

“Ryan, what’s wrong? Did anyone get hurt?” That was the first thing that came to my mind, really. I couldn’t bear to hear that anyone had gotten hurt at the fundraiser I had planned. Not Jamie, Toni, Salvatore, or Xander, or my mother! It would weigh on my conscience so deeply that I wouldn’t even be able to survive it.

“I'm not quite sure, but just look.”

Of course, he was just being his usual dramatic self. Very soon, I’d start taking him less and less seriously for real. Because I could not just deal with this now. I didn’t want to notice he had his hand in a familiar looking man's hand. I was going to bring that up later for sure. Now, I just needed to breathe and make sure I was able to salvage whatever was left.

But, I couldn’t even enter inside the building. There was nothing I could salvage. The culprit, the god forsaken arsonist, had set fire to every single thing, even our offices were gone. I wondered how long it would take to get to the building back to its shape, perfect in all ramifications. I wondered if that could ever be done, even. I couldn’t hear what the firefighter was saying. And I couldn’t see Luca. Where could he have been? How could he disappear just when I needed him the most?

I looked around and I saw him talking with a man in a tuxedo and a domineering composure. I knew Luca had one, too, but I could just tell this man was super important. Like he wormed in the military or something. Or was he secret service? I’d just known I would wait for Luca to come over and tell me by himself. And, then, he did.

“That was Senator Higgins.”

“Oh no, Senator Higgins?” I replied sarcastically, so he could tell I was not sharing the same excitement he had on at the moment. When he glared at me, I then asked, “What did he say?”

“Well, he’d come to invite me to DC. The president had seen the amazing job I’d done with the town and he wanted to endorse me as the next senator of this zone, since he was stepping down.”

I really liked where he was going, but I needed him to skip to the point. Even though the firefighters had subdued the fire, I still felt I was on fire. I still felt like I needed to do everything within my power to make sure I figured out who did all of this. And I didn’t know when I screamed at Luca's face. “Could you get to the point please?”

Of course, he was taken aback. I’m very sure he had never heard me scream before. But, he just said it anyways. “I’d be going to Washington DC for the next couple days.”

“Oh, wow, yes. To get endorsed. Does the president know about this though? The fire? The sabotage?”

He almost laughed, and it surprised the hell out of me. Because what was funny in all that was going on? “You’re obviously wondering why I look like I’m about to laugh. Well, apparently, all these shenanigans are normal. It just means someone sees me as a threat. And it could be anyone really. Even people I didn’t know yet. And that just proved how valuable I was to him.”

“So, you mean, I don’t have to figure out who’s trying to do all of these?”

“I mean, it’s not your job.”

“Sure,” I agreed, but deep down I still wanted to go ahead with my investigations. And I was going to. “So, when do you leave?”

He started fiddling through his phone, like he was scrolling for a number. “In two hours.”

“How is that possible? Who’s going back home to your kids?”

“Well, I’m trying to reach my mum for that, but her number is not going through.”

“You really think with all that was going on in there she would be available?”
