When he ends the kiss, he cups my cheek and says, “I don’t care where we live, Charlize, so long as we’re there together. Three nights without you was three nights too long. Don’t ever make me do that again.”

“Never,” I promise. “I will never run from you again. My home is wherever you are.

EPILOGUE

Charlize

6 Months Later

Poppy: Seth’s giving me the eye. I may disappear for a while.

Charlize: Is that code forwe won’t see you again tonight?

Adeline: You know it is, Charles.

Lorelei: I thought Ashton demanded a lot of sex. He’s got nothing on Seth.

Jessica: Get it, girl. I’m thinking of dragging Jack somewhere fun for some vibe action.

Charlize: Ooh, yes! Owen needs some Motley Crue in his life tonight.

Jenna: Did I miss something here? Motley Crue?

Poppy: Charles has a Motley Crue vibe. She likes to tease Owen with it as often as possible.

Adeline: She randomly texts and emails him images and stories about Motley Crue.

Charlize: I just texted him.

Lorelei: Where are the guys?

Jessica: The last I saw them they were at the Blackjack table.

We’re in Vegas with our husbands for the weekend. It’s something that’s becoming a tradition for us. This is our third weekend together.

I’m in the middle of tapping out another text when Owen’s arms come around me and his lips brush my neck. “Whoever thought we could wait another four months to get married was dreaming.”

I smile and turn in his arms. “This is the first and last time we ever give our mothers any say in any decision we make.”

“This is the last timeIgive you any say in when I’ll marry you.”

Owen proposed to me a month after he made me his and moved me into his New York condo. I never wanted to live in LA anyway. We talked about getting married straight away, but our mothers were horrified. They had a little get together, unbeknownst to us, and presented us with a date in April that worked well for them. Owen wanted to say no. A nine-month wait was too long for him. It was me who said yes, we’d give them this. I blame Owen’s sex spell. I was clearly not of right mind that day. I blame that spell for anything and everything.

“What do you mean it’s the last time you give me any say?”

“I just decided I’m marrying you tonight.”

I blink. “Really?”

“Yes. I found you an Elvis I think you’re going to love. He’s so old he might even be the real Elvis.”

“Smartass.”

He grins and kisses me.

He tastes like whiskey and love.

Bradford joins us. “I believe this casino is a hiking-free zone.”
