I sprang into action and…

Whatever.

Now I’m facing interviews and journalists wanting to talk to me.

I have dudes in suits telling me to get on TV and get my name exposed.

Get my ‘brand’ out there.

It’ll make me a ton more money!

All I want to do is forget about it.

Anytime someone brings up the accident I make sure to name every person that didn’t survive.

I’m supposed to go to therapy too, considering what happened and what I saw.

But I don’t do that.

I’m not going to therapy.

I’m avoiding all interviews.

I just want to…

I don’t even know what I want anymore.

I guess that’s why I end up at Remi’s front door.

I miss my best friend. I need my best friend.

There’s maybe more to it than that…

When the door opens and I see Fiona standing there, I nod.

Definitely way more to it.

“Oh, Riff,” Fiona says.

She lunges forward and throws her arms around me.

She hugs me. She cries.

I keep my hands at my sides.

I refuse to acknowledge the smell of her hair.

I refuse to acknowledge the way her body feels against mine.

She breaks the hug.

She tries to touch my face but I back away.

A second later, Remi is there.

On crutches.

The left side of his face bandaged up.
