“Leave us alone, Fiona,” he growls at his sister.

Fiona smiles at me and walks away.

“What are you doing here, Riff?” Remi asks me.

“Just wanted to check on you. Haven’t talked since…”

“Talk about what?”

“How are you feeling?”

“Go away, Riff. I don’t need your pity. I don’t need you here. Ever. Got it?”

“You’re really that pissed over me saving your life?”

Remi throws a left punch at me.

I’m not expecting it.

My nose busts open as I stumble back.

Remi slams the door shut.

I wipe the blood away from my nose and leave.

It’s the first of many punches I’ll take from Remi.

That’s going to be our thing.

Just all out brawls.

Fighting as much as possible.

He hates me for the decisions I’ve made.

I hate him for hating me.

And the bad blood just gets worse and worse…

So much worse.

Did you hear the story about the Christmas tree incident?

No?

Didn’t think so.

A few days before Christmas.

Years after the bus accident.

There’s a hockey function.

In some fancy looking ballroom.

With a Christmas tree that’s easily ten feet tall and just as wide.

Decorated beautifully.
