“I can’t.”

Silver turned, and I felt the rest of their eyes on me. He frowned. “What’s wrong?”

“I just… I can’t.” A strangled whisper. “Please.”

Slowly he approached, and like he had in the dressing room. He slid a hand into my hair and tilted my face up to his. “Skyla.”

I closed my eyes, blocking out the longing my name on his lips brought out in me. “Please don’t make me,” I begged. “Not tonight.”

When I finally opened my eyes again, his eyes were gentle. “We’ll need to speak to you later,” he said. “The five of us.”

Yeah, that was expected. “Okay.”

Silver’s eyes dropped to my lips, and for a second I thought he was finally, finallygoing to kiss me. And no matter how pissed I felt, I was going to let him.

“Wraith,” he said, still holding me. “Take Skyla to her apartment.”

“Myapartment?”

The barest shadow of a smile. It didn’t meet his eyes. “I told you, baby girl. This was always going to happen. You’re ours, whether you’re ready to be or not. But we’ve been ready since the moment we met you.”

Releasing my hair, he stepped back and nodded.

Comet winked, and Grave stared at me like he could see everything about me. Wraith touched me on the shoulder, and I watched the rest of them enter the clubhouse to the sound of cheers. Delta hung from the top of the doorframe before finally letting go and going inside.

“Where are we…”

Wraith held out a hand, and together we walked over to the multi-story building. The lobby looked like the fanciest hotel I’d ever seen. Pale marble floors streaked with dark swirls that reminded me of their shadows. Sconces on the walls which added a moody air. A big mirror and an enormous chandelier.

I blinked.

This wasnotwhat I expected.

“What is this place?”

“Our home,” Wraith said. “The five of us. There are six apartments.”

And one was mine.

My stomach swooped. Silver wasn’t joking. They had prepared for me. How long had they had the apartment waiting? Before they met me? After?

We went into the elevator and up to the second floor. The small lobby here was also lovely, with just three doors: the two apartments and the door to the emergency stairs. Wraith pointed to the door on the left. “This is yours.”

“Whose is that?”

“Mine.”

I looked up at him, taking him in. Wraith was a giant. Not in the literal sense. Real giants could crush him with one foot. But in comparison to me? He was easily the biggest fae I’d ever seen, and yet he could move in complete silence. Black hair and black eyes added to the appearance ofdanger. But I knew deep down, where my fae instincts lived, Wraith would never hurt me.

He didn’t speak much. Certainly more than Grave, but still, he preferred action to words.

“How long have you had this apartment?” I asked.

Wraith smirked. “It’s always been in the building. Would be a little hard to have an apartment building with a hole in the middle.”

I laughed once, in spite of myself, and Puff ruffled her wings. “You know that’s not what I meant.”

He reached out and touched my cheek, shuddering as he did it. It was a touch which hid his impossible strength. I could feel the way everything in him held back. “It used to be our common area. Until we met you.”
