“The Crimson Petal is yours, by the way,” Delta said. He didn’t have a shirt, lounging backwards on one of Silver’s dining chairs.

“What?”

Delta shrugged. “Not like he can take it where he went, and there wasn’t anyone for him to pass it to. You can do whatever you want with it.”

“Is that what you wanted to tell me?”

His mouth curled into a grin. “No, that’s just a bonus.”

All five of them were here now. I stood in the center of the room. “Okay, you’re all here. I’m about done with the cheeky secrets. Tell me what the fuck it is that I’m ‘ready’ for, or I’m going back to my apartment.”

Delta groaned. “I love your mouth.”

I stared him down, and he stared back at me, arousal clear through his sweatpants.

“You said you didn’t know much about your fae side,” Comet said. “Have you ever heard ofâmmelune?”

I frowned. “No. Should I?”

“No,” Silver said. “It’s not a common thing, and there are different words for it among the various courts. So you might have heard a different name for it. There’s no literal translation into English, but roughly, it means ‘the moon that lives in my soul.’”

“In the Court of Sunlight they call itténèbresce. Or ‘the secret darkness within me.’”

Wraith cleared his throat. “In other words, the thing that allows you to exist. Shadows would not exist without light, light without darkness. Every Court has one.”

“Okay,” I said, trying to grasp it. “But—”

“You are ourâmmelune,” Grave said.

I turned fully in a circle to face him, his quiet, steady presence dropping the bomb into the silence.

No one, not even Delta, had a trace of humor on their faces. “What does that mean?”

“You can’t feel it now,” Comet said. “Because you’re still mortal. But once—if—you choose to triggerathanasía, you will.”

Frustration built in my chest, and they saw it. Grave was on his feet. “It’s easier to show you.”

They surrounded me in seconds, every one of them touching me. Surrounding me. It was overwhelming. “Breathe, baby girl.”

My vision went dark, power surging into me from every direction. So many images poured into my mind, lasting only for a second, but so crystal clear they stole my breath. Drenched in sensation that felt like darkness and frost. Electrified.

The blackness of the woods at night, breathless chasing and pleasure. Feral growls rolling over my skin. The joy of resisting and submitting. A cage lined with velvet. Dizziness as I fell down into pure blackness, knowing that I would experience pleasure, even unaware. The lights of stained glass, and the feeling of comfort and safety. Shadows wrapping around me like ropes, keeping me in place. Tears and beautiful sobs mixed with exquisite pain and sharp pleasure.

Their rage and violence. Who they were at their core. Unafraid to do what they needed to, and took joy in it while they did. Unbridled speed and freedom. They would set the world on fire for me and warm their hands on the flames.

Pleasure shocked through every cell, like I was gripping the third rail on a track of sex and breathless orgasms. Ifeltall of them. Soul to soul, they brushed against me, and it felt right. It feltperfect. I could fall through this vortex of power forever and not care to be lost.

It felt exactly like the dreams I’d always had.

I gasped when they released me, nearly falling to the floor. “What the actual hell was that?”

“We thought it was some kind of joke at first,” Silver said, not directly answering the question. “Walking in and finding a human woman who woke our deepest instincts. Not impossible, just the rarest of the rare. Now, knowing what you are, it makes more sense.”

I walked toward the kitchen, turning to see all of them at once. Every image I’d seen. I could pull them apart now. Separate, yet combined. It was all of them. Like they’d put their minds inside mine and let me know them deeper than any other person alive. Terror and longing pulsed in my chest. “Are you saying I’m your soulmate?”

Delta growled. “That’s a human word, and it doesn’t even fucking come close.”

“But yes,” Silver said, face lit with amusement. “That’s what we’re saying.”
