I downed the rest of the water in the glass while he laughed. “You won’t be there when I wake up?”

“I can be,” he said.

Taking a deep breath in and out. “I want to be clean,” I said. “Cozy. And I want you to be there.” I was fully ready for this, but I wasn’t ready to wake up alone after it.

“Absolutely. I can’t promise to keep my hands off you.”

Clearing my throat, I ignored the delicious shivers running down my spine. “I would never ask you to make that promise.”

I picked the small bottle off the table and looked at it. “How fast?”

“Be in bed already.”

“Okay.” I stood, and he looked at me. From this angle I saw the bulge in his leathers, straining. “Do I need to let you know when?”

“No. I’ll know. Take your time, do whatever you like. When you drink it, it will tell me. Part of the magic of developing it myself.”

Wow. Okay. “See you in the morning.”

Grave said nothing, but his gaze burned into me as I picked a passed out Puff off the table and headed upstairs.

Puff stretched, practically falling out of my arms in her food coma. “I don’t have to put you to sleep,” I said. “You’re doing it all by yourself.”

I put her on the couch in my place, sighing at the pile of possessions still in my living room. I needed to move in, but the idea of doing it was simply exhausting.

Like Grave told me to, I took my time. I took a long, luxurious shower, relaxing under the water, and took the time to dry my hair and brush it out. Not for him, but because I hadn’t been doing it lately, and I missed pampering myself.

A laugh burst out of me. Pampering myself to get utterly fucked. I loved it.

The lingerie in my closet was… a lot. Who chose what? I had no idea, but looking through it, I felt drawn to one of the simplest pieces. Just a short silky nightgown, all black with a touch of lace at the top and bottom. Something I wouldn’t mind wearing to bed with no plans for sex at all. Perfect.

I didn’t bother with underwear, just the nightgown before I slipped beneath the comforter and sighed. The glass bottle sat on the bedside table, liquid shimmering and swirling. I was comfortable, and outside the sun was setting. How long would he wait? The idea that I would have no idea… I shuddered.

Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to get this lucky. To have mates who wanted to fulfill my darkest fantasies because they weretheirfantasies too.

Bottoms up, Sky.

I pulled the small stopper out of the bottle and took it like a shot. It tasted like an explosion of fruit. Strawberries and blueberries, almost like candy. Fucking incredible. I reached out to put the bottle back, and it fell out of my hand.

Oh shit.

He wasn’t kidding.

My eyes closed.

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

____________

GRAVE

SLEEPING BEAUTY

The tug in my chest told me Skyla drank the bottle. It wasn’t late yet. I had plenty of time. So I didn’t move from where I’d been this whole time, in the dining room, at the table which had long since cleared, other than my whiskey and my water. If I stood up, even with the intention of going to my own apartment, I wouldn’t. I knew myself better than that.

I heard the door to the apartment building open, and Wraith stepped into the room, sighing down into the chair at the other end of the table.

The magic gave him a drink too, and absolutely no food. His own recon at the Legion clubhouse must not have gone well.
